Salary Range:  $60,000-$85,000 annually 
(Bilingual candidates are eligible for a pay differential)

We provide weekly clinical supervision aimed at promoting the effective accumulation of clinical hours. This structured support is designed to enhance professional development and ensure a comprehensive understanding of clinical practices.


 

Summary Description:


The Licensed Mental Health Professional - Youth ACT plays a pivotal role in providing mobile and community-based mental health services and support to youth in alignment with the Youth ACT program. This position focuses on addressing the unique mental health needs of young individuals, fostering resilience, and promoting overall mental well-being.

The Youth ACT Team serves children/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) throughout Westchester County, who are returning home from inpatient settings or residential services, at risk of entering such settings, or have not adequately engaged or responded to treatment in more traditional community-based services. Youth ACT team delivers intensive, highly coordinated, individualized services and skilled therapeutic interventions through an integrated, multi-disciplinary team approach to better achieve success and maintain the child in the home, school and community. 

We provide weekly clinical supervision aimed at promoting the effective accumulation of clinical hours. This structured support is designed to enhance professional development and ensure a comprehensive understanding of clinical practices.


 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to youth participants of the Youth ACT program in the home and community.
  • Collaborate with the Youth ACT Team, school personnel, parents, and external partners to assess and address the mental health needs of youth.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to determine treatment goals and intervention strategies.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate therapeutic interventions to support youth in achieving their mental health goals.
  • Participate in case conferences and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create holistic care plans for youth participants.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups to enhance mental health awareness and coping skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of youth participants, adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and legal/ethical standards.
  • Provide 24 hour crisis intervention and support to youth experiencing mental health emergencies on a rotating basis.
  • Stay informed about best practices and evidence-based interventions in youth mental health.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, parents, and external partners.
  • Skill in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for youth.
  • Ability to provide effective crisis intervention and support.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Positive feedback from youth participants and their families on the effectiveness of mental health services.
  • Successful achievement of treatment goals and positive outcomes for youth.
  • Compliance with program guidance and ethical/legal standards in client record-keeping.
  • Active participation in multidisciplinary teams and case conferences.
  • Continued professional development and training in youth mental health.


Requirements: 

  • The candidate must hold one of the following New York State licenses: LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, LMFT or limited permit eligible.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier.  
  • The Clinician will be using agency vehicles and is responsible for adhering to the Agency Driver Policy.
  • Must maintain current New York State Defensive Driving certification.
  • Specialized training or experience in youth mental health.
  • Previous experience in providing mental health services to youth.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Due to the nature of the program, must have the ability to be flexible with working hours.
  • Strong computer knowledge: typing, communication tools, scheduling tools and web browsers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management systems. 
  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking). 
  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance by applicable regulatory clearances as required. 
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.


Special Considerations

  • Hours per week, reporting structure, and location are subject to change per program needs.


Mandated Reporter:

This is a Mandated Reporter position.  The NYS Justice Center legislation defines anyone who has regular and substantial contact with any person with special needs as a “custodian” under the law and, therefore, a mandated reporter.  You can be held liable by both the civil and criminal legal systems for intentionally failing to make a report.
