We are seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join our Commercial Litigation Group in New York, supporting the firm's growing Title IX and Education Practice.

Position Overview

This attorney will play a key role in representing educational institutions, students, faculty, and other clients in a wide range of sensitive and high-profile matters. The practice serves clients nationwide and offers a unique opportunity to handle impactful cases involving education law, civil rights, and complex litigation.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple matters in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment, discretion, and exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and defend Title IX investigations and hearings.
  • Represent clients in student and faculty disciplinary proceedings.
  • Handle matters involving academic misconduct and special education.
  • Assist with civil rights, defamation, and related litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings, mediations, and court proceedings, as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across multiple practice areas to deliver comprehensive client service.
  • Maintain strong client relationships while managing a diverse caseload.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
  • 5+ years of Litigation Experience
  • Senior Associate or Counsel-level experience with a strong litigation background.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to independently manage matters while collaborating with a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Title IX, education law, civil rights litigation, administrative proceedings, or complex litigation is preferred, but not required.
