Job Description

Under general supervision, with some latitude for independent initiative, the selected candidate will perform various functions assisting with the coordination of the Public Safety Office’s activities.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Manage the anonymous quality of life tip line; calls and database.
2. Conduct outreach to NYCHA residents to increase participation in Public Safety initiatives.
3. Attend meetings; write detailed minutes and progress reports.
4. Assist with planning and implementation of Public Safety events.
5. Prepare and maintain program records, written reports, daily and monthly statistics.
6. Attend staff meetings, training sessions and community meetings as required.
7. Work with other NYCHA Departments and NYPD on various safety initiatives.
8. Perform daily office operational tasks.
NOTE: Public Safety employees are required to hold all confidential information in trust and strict confidence; unauthorized information sharing is strictly prohibited.

1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
