Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 plus bonus and incentive stock options

Job Summary

As a Community Impact Associate, you will support NineDot’s community engagement efforts to build strong, positive relationships with local stakeholders including residents, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, and elected officials impacted by or interested in our clean energy projects. You will help coordinate outreach, in-person meetings, and events, while also tracking key project and construction milestones to ensure community engagement activities are aligned and effective. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to build on their skills in stakeholder relations, communications, and clean energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Community engagement and outreach
    • Assist with research and due diligence on communities near proposed project sites, including identifying key organizations, leaders, and stakeholders.
    • Help coordinate outreach efforts such as distributing materials, scheduling meetings, and maintaining contact lists. This may also include assisting other members on the Community team with administrative support, including scheduling, note-taking, and follow-up.
    • Attend community meetings and events (approximately one day per week in the field, possibly on weekends) to represent NineDot, share information, and help address community questions.
    • Support the planning and logistics of community workshops, open houses, and other outreach activities.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create and distribute informational materials for community audiences.
  • Data tracking and coordination 
    • Document and track community feedback, sharing insights with internal teams.  This will include maintaining accurate records of community engagement activities in company databases.
    • Collaborate with development, engineering and construction, legal, and marketing teams to ensure timely responses to community inquiries.
    • Track construction schedules and ensure engagement strategies align with project timelines to maintain visibility with communities.
    • Assist in preparing reports and presentations to highlight NineDot’s community impact.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, environmental studies, urban planning, political science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of professional experience in community engagement or organizing, government relations, public affairs, or real estate development.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in data tracking and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Airtable is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel locally for community meetings and events (approx. once a week, sometimes on weekends).
  • Interest in renewable energy, environmental justice, and community impact.
