About Agency Cybersecurity:

Agency Cybersecurity is fast growing venture-backed startup that provides best-in-class cybersecurity and compliance. Our software and services simplify complex compliance frameworks including SOC2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and others, empowering businesses to scale securely and confidently. We're backed by top tier investors like Y Combinator and have offices in NYC, Boston, Richmond, and London.

Location: 100% On-Site in New York, NY or Richmond, VA

Position Type: Hourly, Full Time

Experience Level: Apprentice / Entry Level

Compensation: starts at $20 per hour

About the Role:

We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to join our team in an entry-level capacity. This is a hands-on apprenticeship designed to provide real-world training in regulatory compliance, security frameworks (like SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA), and internal operations.

This is a highly competitive role within our apprenticeship program, offering a fast-track pathway to becoming a full-time Compliance Analyst or Security Analyst for top-performing candidates.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support our compliance team with day-to-day administrative task
  • Help review, track, and organize documentation related to audits, policies, and internal control
  • Assist with client onboarding, evidence collection, and monitoring workflow
  • Learn how to use leading compliance platforms and tool
  • Collaborate with consultants and senior team members to ensure deadlines are met

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong interest in compliance, cybersecurity, legal, or operations
  • 4-year college degree or 4 years of continuous work experience in a professional, client-facing role
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow structured processes and learn quickly
  • No prior experience in compliance required — we will train you

Career Path:

This is a 12-month paid apprenticeship program at $20/hour, with a clear track to a full-time salaried Compliance Coordinator or Analyst role upon successful completion.

We’re upfront about who we are: a fast-paced, high-growth startup where expectations are high and the learning curve is steep. This is a 100% in-person role, and while the official schedule is full-time, success here often requires going beyond the typical 40-hour workweek, especially for those looking to grow quickly into analyst positions.

Not a Fit If:

  • You’re looking for a strict 9-to-5 schedule with minimal flexibility
  • You feel uncomfortable in high-pressure or fast-paced environments
  • You prefer not to work in a highly professional, client-facing role
  • You’re not excited about being part of a high-growth, in-person startup culture
  • You’re looking for a role with minimal expectations beyond basic responsibilities

Benefits:

We believe in rewarding hard work with meaningful perks that support your growth, health, and well-being.

  • 10 days of paid time off (PTO)
  • 11 paid federal holidays
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Monthly healthcare stipend
  • Gym membership stipend
  • Weekly team lunches and in-office snacks
