We’re transforming mental healthcare accessibility by helping therapists launch tech-driven, in-network practices.
The Role

About us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As Compliance Officer at Grow Therapy, you will play a critical role in running Grow’s compliance program.  You will partner closely with Grow’s Legal and other business teams to ensure operations comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements, conduct investigations where needed, and continuously improve Grow’s compliance program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization's compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and laws pertaining to behavioral health services, including but not limited to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and state-specific regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks. Develop strategies to address emerging compliance challenges.
  • Ethical Standards: Promote a culture of ethics and compliance within the organization.
  • Policy Development: Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to align with changing regulations and industry best practices. Communicate and train staff on these policies.
  • Monitoring and Auditing: Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance. Develop corrective action plans and oversee their implementation across teams.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit compliance reports to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Compliance Committee as required. Maintain accurate and organized compliance documentation.
  • Privacy and Confidentiality: Partner with Legal to ensure that patient privacy and confidentiality standards, including HIPAA, are upheld in all aspects of operations, including electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Medical Records: Partner with Grow’s medical record function to ensure compliance with timely record releases, tracking of disclosures, and annual HHS reporting as indicated.
  • Incident Response: Oversee and manage Grow's response to compliance violations or incidents, including investigating allegations and implementing corrective actions, partnering with Legal where appropriate.
  • People management:  Supervise the Compliance Project Manager.

Salary range: $155,000 - $211,000

You’ll Be a Good Fit If:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance roles within the healthcare or behavioral health industry.
  • You have strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing behavioral health services.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively share your knowledge with non-experts.
  • You have exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a hands-on approach.
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) credentials.
  • You have a demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and integrity.
  • You understand the need for effective prioritization in navigating the complexities associated with working in a hyper-growth startup environment.

What We Do

We believe that therapy is an essential part of becoming the best versions of ourselves. No matter who you are or where you are starting, it’s more than support through challenge - it’s the foundation to grow, heal and lead lives that are more resilient, empathic, hopeful and powerful.

Everyone should have the opportunity to receive personalized therapy, and therapists should be able to serve the communities they care about most, not just the 10% of people who can afford to pay out of pocket.

Our mission is to help people get quality mental health care, by supporting the therapists who are looking to serve them.

Grow Therapy empowers independent therapists to launch and grow thriving in-network private practices by enabling them to tap into large scale credentialing, referrals, administrative and community support enabled by our passionate team/products. When therapists no longer have the hassle of mundane admin tasks like billing and insurance claims or the limitations of out-of-pocket-only payment options, they can provide care to the communities who need it most!

To achieve our lofty ambitions, we’re building an ambitious team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Our founders come from Harvard Medical School, Stripe, and Blackstone, and bring Grow’s mission to life from the inside-out, promoting holistic wellness for all team members. We balance our determination with a culture that champions well-being, from unlimited PTO and a Winter Break to Mental Health Mornings and learning and wellness stipends.

Grow is backed by top VCs and angel investors, including leaders from SignalFire, Village Global, Airbnb, Nurx, PatientPing, and Blackstone. We have a long way to go to maximize our impact, but if we do our job well, in the coming years we will make a difference in countless lives. We hope you’ll join us!
