Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an Aegis/SSDS Computer Network Technician. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Aegis and SSDS tactical networks in accordance with the Navy 3-M system. Equipment includes but is not limited to the Mk 6 MOD 0 Computing Infrastructure (ACI) Client/Server Nodes and Networks, Mission Critical Equipment (MCE) cabinets, Network Attached Storage (NAS) servers, OJ-774(V) Command Control Group (CCG), OJ-719(V) Command and Decision (C&D) Consoles, OJ-723B(V) Peripheral Control Station (PCS) W/Information Assurance (IA), OJ830(V)1 Tactical Computer Console (TCC), OL-724 Computer Groups, Tactical, Ship Self Defense (V1, V2 and V3), and Automated Status Boards (ASTABS), Operating and maintaining the Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS) Servers, Thin Client Displays (TCD), Virtual Data Acquisition Converters (VDAC) and Data Busses for testing and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FD/FI) for the Aegis/SSDS Weapon System. You will also need to become intimately familiar with additional equipment interfaces associated existing and Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) Systems, Intercommunications Interconnecting Groups, and Radar Set Control Consoles.
Work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. SCSC is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and provides AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) combat systems for engineering, testing, training, and certification.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
This position requires a high school or GED diploma and seven (7) years of relevant experience.
Must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40-hour work-week configurations, including:
1. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift
2. Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift
3. Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
4. Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
Additionally, these work week configurations may rotate to meet mission requirements.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • A related U.S. Navy NEC.
  • Experience with U.S. Navy Aegis and/or SSDS systems.
  • Linux and/or Cisco certifications.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $59023 - $100339

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
