About The Role
 

In FTI Consulting’s Dispute Advisory Services (DAS) segment, we focus on providing expert testimony, litigation consulting, forensic economic, and damages analyses in numerous types of litigated matters, including some of the highest-profile lawsuits of recent years.

The Securities, Accounting and Regulatory Enforcement group is a high-performing team that works on litigation and investigative matters to deliver economics-based, quantitative analyses that require expertise in financial economics, and analysis of securities trading and investments. The team employs a range of econometric and statistical tools and techniques.

As a Consultant, you will be partnered frequently with subject matter experts, giving the unique opportunity to work with a diverse set of clients as well as engage with experts in economics and financial institutions across the FTI organization.

The Securities, Accounting and Regulatory Enforcement group routinely assists with litigation and investigations involving:  

  • Securities litigation

  • Trading and investment analyses

  • Financial regulatory enforcement (SEC, CFTC, FINRA, IRS, banking)

  • Hedge fund and private equity fund disputes

  • Financial product matters (including crypto, ABS, and derivatives)

  • Valuation, restructuring, and solvency

  • Commercial disputes

What You’ll Do

  • Apply economic, financial, statistical, and analytical skills to various client situations, specific to client needs.

  • Perform technical, industry, and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information

  • Assist in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.

  • Maintain detailed analyses reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.

  • Perform day-to-day activities in support of litigation consulting projects including interaction with other FTI team members, client personnel, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.

  • Supervise more junior team members’ analyses.

You will have opportunities to collaborate laterally and vertically, internally and externally, as well as lead smaller projects, or specific workstreams of larger projects, and innovate by developing various approaches to complex issues, alongside senior team members.

What You Will Need To Succeed  

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics, or any other quantitative discipline with demonstrated interest in finance and economics

  • 1+ years of finance or economics experience

  • Strong financial modeling skills using Microsoft Excel and experience with at least one statistical software (Stata, SAS, R)

  • A general understanding of finance, economics, and valuation principles

  • Top notch writing and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional eye for detail and accuracy

  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship

  • Prior litigation experience

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $51,000
Maximum Pay: $113,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
