About Avoca

Avoca is transforming how home service companies engage with their customers. Our AI-powered conversational agents handle every high-value inbound call, from booking jobs, qualifying leads, and driving higher revenue, all at a speed and consistency unmatched by human call centers.

We're a Series B startup backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, General Catalyst, and other top-tier investors, with $125M raised and a $1B valuation. We grew 10x in 2025 and have scaled to 130+ employees in under two years across our NYC headquarters and Santa Barbara office.

In a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors, we're building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement, serving the largest brands in home services. With high-energy, in-office teams in both locations, every hire here has an immediate and visible impact.

About the Role

We’re hiring Avoca’s first dedicated Content Lead to build our content function from the ground up and make Avoca the trusted source for how home services businesses grow and use AI.

You’ll own how Avoca earns attention and gets discovered — from how we show up across Google and AI search to the customer stories, original research, and points of view that shape how the home services market thinks. Your work will help Avoca show up when buyers are actively looking for answers while giving home services leaders a reason to follow, trust, and engage with us before they enter a sales process.

This is a highly hands-on role. You’ll set the strategy and drive content from idea through research, creation, distribution, and measurement. You’ll interview customers and subject-matter experts and turn Avoca’s expertise, data, and customer results into content that’s useful, compelling, and worth people’s attention.

You’ll use AI to increase the speed and scale of the content operation while maintaining a high bar for originality, accuracy, and quality. Above all, you’ll approach content as a growth engine — thinking beyond traffic and engagement to how it creates and captures demand, supports campaigns, and drives qualified pipeline.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Growth and work closely with Product Marketing, Brand, and Sales.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and own Avoca’s content strategy, identifying the questions, topics, stories, and points of view we should own based on customer needs, competitive whitespace, and revenue potential

  • Grow Avoca’s visibility across Google and AI search by mapping how buyers look for answers, creating authoritative content, and strengthening our presence across the sources AI answer engines trust and cite

  • Own and execute the content program end to end—researching, interviewing, writing, and editing high-intent pages, guides, customer stories, original research, lead generation assets, and social content

  • Turn content assets into demand generation campaigns across multiple channels (e.g., search, paid email, outbound)

  • Define and track performance across search and AI visibility, qualified traffic, conversions, opportunities, and influenced pipeline

  • Build AI-first workflows that accelerate research, creation, optimization, repurposing, and distribution without compromising originality, accuracy, or editorial quality

What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing, organic growth, or a related role, ideally at a fast-growing B2B technology company

  • A portfolio of excellent work and a track record of building content programs that generate qualified traffic, conversions, and pipeline

  • Strong, current knowledge of SEO and AEO/GEO, including how companies earn visibility and citations across AI search

  • Exceptional writing, interviewing, and narrative skills, with the ability to find a compelling angle and make complex ideas clear and engaging

  • Strong editorial judgment: you can distinguish genuine insight from generic content and turn rough ideas into work that is credible, useful, and distinctively Avoca

  • Experience creating content across the buyer journey, from high-intent organic pages to customer stories, original research, and other authority-building content

  • Strong commercial and analytical instincts, including an understanding of demand generation and the ability to use performance data to improve results

  • Deep fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to materially increase the quality, speed, and volume of content

Who You Are
  • You have a strong instinct for what makes a story worth telling and know how to draw differentiated insights and proof points out of customers and subject-matter experts

  • You’re a zero-to-one builder who is energized by creating the strategy, standards, workflows, and measurement for a new content function

  • You’re commercially curious. You want to understand why customers buy, what prevents them from buying, and how content can create momentum throughout the buyer journey

  • You think about distribution and conversion from the beginning, not after something is published

  • You’re AI-native and constantly redesigning how you work to produce better content faster without accepting generic output, weak reasoning, or unsupported claims

  • You stay ahead of how AI answer engines are changing buyer behavior, content discovery, and distribution—and translate those shifts into Avoca’s approach

  • You combine high standards with speed, knowing when to refine, when to ship and learn, and where your effort will have the greatest impact

  • You’re high-agency, resourceful, collaborative, and excited to work in person in NYC with an ambitious team

Bonus Points
  • Experience marketing to SMB or mid-market buyers in a high-velocity sales motion

  • Experience in vertical SaaS, home services, or another industry-specific market

  • Hands-on experience with AI-search, SEO, and content tools such as Profound, Semrush, Google Search Console, or GA4

  • Experience turning proprietary data or original research into content that earns attention, links, and citations

  • Experience creating video-first customer stories or translating written ideas into compelling video content

Benefits
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell

  • Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays

  • Company-wide off-sites

  • Daily in-office lunch through Parkday

  • Monthly wellness stipend

  • Dinner covered when working late

  • Commuter benefits and late-night rideshare

  • Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request

  • All core tools and software provided

Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is $160,000-$210,000 with final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications determined during the interview process. Avoca’s total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks. Our Recruiting team will share the full details as you progress through our hiring process.
