LGM purchased ADPRO Sports in July 2023.  ADPRO Sports, a subsidiary of Legends Global Merchandise, is a prominent leader in the branded merchandise market, known for our commitment to excellence and innovation. With a growing global footprint, we continue to push boundaries and challenge the status quo. We are looking for a skilled Controller to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering superior products/services while maintaining the highest levels of financial integrity and accountability.

THE ROLE    

The Controller will oversee our accounting team, be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, and support the Corporate Human Resource function.  This position will be involved in maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.  This position addresses tight deadlines and oversees a multitude of accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reporting, and the support of budget and forecast activities.  The position also includes review and oversight of Human Resource functions including payroll and integration with Corporate Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Financial Management: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger
  • Executive Communication: Deliver executive-level reporting packages with commentary and analysis; Translate financial data into strategic insights for leadership
  • Cash Management: Optimize cash flow management by forecasting cash requirements, monitoring cash balances, and implementing effective cash management strategies
  • Month-End and Year-End Process: Ensure the timely reporting of monthly financial information and assist in all financial reporting; Review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for all general ledger accounts
  • Budget & Forecasts: Support the EVP in the development and implementation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Reporting: Review the monthly and annual financial statements. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Audit Support: Review, coordinate and oversee completion of annual audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Oversee ERP/accounting system integrity; Improve reporting automation and dashboards; Streamline accounting processes; Implement best-practice financial workflows
  • Policy & Procedures: Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting staff, including performance review, staff development, and training.
  • Payroll: Oversee preparation and processing of weekly payroll, including oversight and management of employee time
  • Communications: Responsible for Company communications related to human resource related matters
  • Corporate liaison: Act as liaison between Corporate HR and Company
  • Employee advisor: Assist employees, as needed, with HR matters
  • Recruitment: Act as liaison between Corporate recruitment and Company, including management of recruiting process for new personnel and conduct interviews as needed throughout the Company
  • Onboarding: Involvement in onboarding process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • 6+ years of hands-on Controller experience or similar
  • Experience with month-end/year-end closing process
  • Proficient in accounting software and databases; expertise in Microsoft Excel; Peachtree experience a plus
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a results driven and deadline driven environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary range of $130,000 - $160,000 plus incentive potential, commensurate with experience and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
