As a Controls Room Product Owner (Associate), you will support the product strategy and delivery for our products, enabling effective oversight and execution across the control environment. You will drive measurable improvements in how test plans are designed, monitored, and executed—leveraging AI-enabled and agentic workflow patterns to improve efficiency, consistency, and transparency while maintaining appropriate controls and human oversight.

You will operate with a “speed-to-production” mindset, executing through an iterative delivery approach (e.g., Pizza POD model) to rapidly prototype, validate with users, and scale durable capabilities. Partnering closely with Software Engineering, Data Science, Design, Control Management, and Compliance stakeholders, you will help drive an outcome-focused roadmap, balance risk and value trade-offs, and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, stable, and adoptable.

Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.

The Controls Room Team within Control Management works collaboratively with other control disciplines and oversees existing control functions as well as the development of new control functions and protocols. The team’s objective is to empower the three lines of defense with risk-based information to manage their control environment. We achieve this by collecting, analyzing and monitoring firmwide risk-based intelligence into all lines of business and corporate functions.

The Controls Room gathers information from key business and technology partners in order to:

•              Facilitate better decision making and actionable insights across the Firm.

•              Create cost-effective and automated reporting; and

•              Provide views into risk and issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support product strategy and delivery for the Controls Room Product ecosystem; align priorities to user needs and oversight objectives.
  • Lead customer discovery activities (interviews, workflow analysis, pain-point identification) to translate needs into a prioritized roadmap/backlog and clear value proposition.
  • Execute delivery in an agile Pizza POD model: rapid prototyping (using GitHub Co-Pilot / Claude/ChatGPT, etc.), short development cycles, and continuous feedback loops with users and stakeholders.
  • Own and maintain the product backlog: write/refine epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that are clear, testable, and aligned to outcomes.
  • Contribute to AI enablement within the product: identify high-impact use cases (e.g., NLP-driven insights, automation, decision support) and support responsible deployment with appropriate controls, monitoring, and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Design to deliver solutions that are scalable, resilient, stable, and adaptable across testing organizations.
  • Establish and track success metrics (e.g., productivity, cycle time, coverage, reliability, control outcomes) and use data to guide prioritization and iteration.
  • Support go-to-market and change management: launch planning, training/readiness, documentation, and post-launch support to drive adoption and measurable business impact.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product management/ownership, business analysis, project delivery, process improvement, or technology/tooling enablement (or equivalent expertise).
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to product delivery across the lifecycle (discovery, delivery, adoption, optimization) with accountability for results.
  • Proven ability to deliver iteratively in a fast-paced model using short development cycles and small teams (e.g., Pizza POD / agile squad).
  • Strong backlog/requirements skills (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria) and comfort partnering closely with engineering and design.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to align outcomes, negotiate trade-offs, and drive timely decisions.
  • Understanding of risk and controls concepts (risk assessment, control evaluations, testing, or related).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Experience working in or closely with audit, compliance, risk management, and/or control testing organizations.
  • Experience delivering AI-enabled workflow capabilities (in production or pilots) with emphasis on transparency, auditability, and human oversight.
  • Experience using AI tools (GitHub CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to generate prototypes and aid/execute SDLC
  • Familiarity with modern data and analytics tools (e.g., Databricks, ThoughtSpot, Sigma, Prophecy, Python).
