ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a licensed behavioral health clinician to lead and advance clinical training and professional development across our organization. This role combines clinical expertise, workforce development, and program leadership to ensure staff are equipped with evidence-based practices and meet all regulatory and compliance standards.

The Coordinator, Clinical Education & Training plays a key role in strengthening clinical quality by designing, delivering, and overseeing impactful training programs, while also managing our learning systems and leading critical initiatives such as opioid overdose prevention programming.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

The Coordinator, Clinical Education & Training is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical training programs across all clinical services. This role partners closely with leadership to ensure training aligns with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in behavioral health care.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deliver evidence-based clinical training programs that enhance staff competency in clinical and administrative practices
  • Assess organizational training needs and develop a comprehensive, ongoing training strategy and calendar
  • Facilitate engaging in-person, virtual, and self-paced training sessions for clinical staff
  • Partner with internal leaders and external subject-matter experts to expand training offerings and ensure clinical relevance
  • Lead and manage the organization’s learning management system (LMS), ensuring compliance with all regulatory, funding, and organizational training requirements
  • Monitor and report on training completion, compliance metrics, and staff development outcomes
  • Maintain and update role-specific training plans aligned with regulatory standards and best practices
  • Oversee training documentation and ensure readiness for audits and regulatory reviews
  • Serve as a liaison for external training vendors and consultants; support contract development and integration of training into clinical practice
  • Lead and coordinate opioid overdose prevention initiatives, including serving as Program Director for grant-funded programs
  • Ensure training reflects the requirements of oversight bodies including OASAS and NYSED
  • Support continuous improvement of training content, policies, and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Master’s Degree in a behavioral health discipline required
  • Active NYS licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or equivalent) required
  • Experience in clinical training, staff development, or supervision in a behavioral health or healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, workforce development, and regulatory training requirements
  • Experience with or ability to manage learning management systems (LMS)
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel locally between program sites
  • Flexible schedule as needed
  • Serves as the primary liaison with academic institutions to coordinate and facilitate student intern placements.
