About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Corporate Banking Associate within Relationship Management as part of the Corporate & Investment Banking's Financial Group. The Corporate Banking Associate will join one of the industry's leading Financial Institutions practices, which covers insurance, asset management, and market structure companies.
The Financial Institutions Group Corporate Banking Associate - Relationship Management position will be responsible for supporting the active management, strategic development, and growth of a portfolio of corporate banking relationships. This role partners closely with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the bank delivers tailored financing, advisory, and capital markets solutions across a suite of products (lending, payments, liquidity, FX, DCM, derivatives, trade finance) while appropriately managing credit exposure. Working experience within the Non-bank Financial Institutions sector experience is a plus.
In this role, you will perform the following key responsibilities:
Client Relationship Strategy & Support
  • Support Relationship Managers with portfolio strategy, client planning materials, and relationship development activities
  • Assist in identifying client needs and coordinating delivery of banking, treasury, capital markets, and risk solutions
  • Participate in prospecting, pipeline development, and preparation of marketing materials
  • Support relationship growth by monitoring client financial performance, industry trends, and competitive activity
  • Contribute to preparing client pitches and materials for ongoing relationship discussions
Deal Execution & Internal Coordination
  • Support execution of transactions, including diligence coordination, preparation of materials, and engagement with internal partners
  • Work with internal groups (Portfolio Management, Credit, Legal, Treasury, Capital Markets, Loan Operations, Risk) to ensure seamless execution and client delivery
  • Track and follow up on key deal milestones, deliverables, and closing requirements
Client Engagement & Communication
  • Engage with clients to collect financial reporting, compliance certificates, and other required deliverables
  • Address routine client inquiries, coordinate follow-up actions, and provide updates to Relationship Managers
  • Maintain strong communication with internal partners to ensure efficient, consistent client service
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Support adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and audit expectations
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and ensure timely updates to internal systems
  • Identify emerging risks within assigned relationships and escalate as appropriate
  • Participate in internal reviews, audits, or regulatory examinations as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Corporate Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years Corporate and/or Investment Banking experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in portfolio management CIB Portfolio Management experience, including experience with leveraged lending
  • Experience within credit underwriting and/or capital market underwriting
  • Strong credit, accounting and technical skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to act with integrity, good character and exercise sound judgement
Job Expectations:
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. In accordance with FINRA rules, individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

2nd year base: $150K
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$120,000.00 - $196,000.00
