The Role:
Blue Owl is seeking a highly motivated Communications Associate to join the Corporate Communications team in New York. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this individual will serve as a versatile communications professional supporting a broad range of strategic, reputational, and operational communications priorities across the firm.
The Associate will help drive efforts to strengthen, protect, and elevate Blue Owl's reputation among investors, media, industry organizations, and other key stakeholders. The role will support communications initiatives across multiple business lines, including Real Assets, Digital Infrastructure, and GP Strategic Capital, while partnering closely with Investor Relations on public company messaging and market-facing narratives. This individual will play an important role in coordinating day-to-day communications activities, managing cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring consistent, effective messaging across the firm.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, highly organized project manager, and collaborative team player who is comfortable working across a variety of communications disciplines, including media relations, executive communications, reputation management, investor communications, and strategic messaging. This role offers broad exposure to senior leaders and key business initiatives in a fast-paced, growing alternative asset management platform.
Responsibilities:
Support the development and execution of proactive and reactive communications strategies that enhance and protect Blue Owl's corporate reputation.
Collaborate with Investor Relations to support external messaging around company growth, business momentum, dividend performance, and key market narratives.
Monitor market sentiment, media coverage, and industry developments, helping to identify opportunities and potential reputational risks.
Draft and edit a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, talking points, Q&A documents, executive briefing materials, internal communications, and external statements.
Help coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Communications function, ensuring seamless execution across projects, priorities, and stakeholder groups.
Serve as a liaison with external communications partners and agencies, including oversight and coordination of deliverables and ongoing projects.
Partner with colleagues across Investor Relations, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, and business leadership teams to ensure consistent and aligned messaging.
Support crisis communications and reputational risk management efforts as needed.
Assist in managing relationships with industry and trade association communications teams to maximize Blue Owl's visibility and thought leadership opportunities.
Track and report on communications activities, media coverage, and key performance indicators to support strategic decision-making.
Support executive visibility efforts, including speaking opportunities, media engagements, and industry conferences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, investor relations, strategic communications, agency communications, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing AI-enabled systems, tools, or workflows that enhance communications effectiveness, improve team productivity, and support content creation, media monitoring, and strategic communications initiatives.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience developing communications materials for senior executives and external audiences.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality execution and meeting deadlines.
Strong business judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions within a complex organization.
Interest in financial services, alternative asset management, real assets, infrastructure, and private markets is preferred.
Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-growing environment with evolving priorities.
Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $105,000 to $145,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performan
