This role sits at the intersection of corporate development and business development, supporting Samba TV’s M&A activities alongside commercial partnerships. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, business development, private equity, or management consulting with financial modeling skills and an interest in the media and technology sectors. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership on strategic transactions and commercial partnerships, while developing expertise in deal execution and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation and execution of potential acquisition targets and strategic investment & commercial opportunities across the media, technology, and data analytics sectors

  • Conduct preliminary financial analysis and due diligence on target companies, including review of confidential information memorandums (CIMs), management presentations, and financial statements

  • Build and maintain models to assess valuation, returns analysis, and other key metrics for potential transactions

  • Prepare business cases to evaluate BD opportunities, including revenue share structures, minimum guarantees, and multi-year deal economics

  • Create partner-facing decks, term sheets, and deal summaries for strategic BD discussions with platforms, OEMs, advertisers, and data partners

  • Assist in the management of buy side and sell-side processes, including as applicable for each, prioritization of buy side prospects, preparation of materials for team reviews and discussions, coordination with advisors, and evaluation of inbound inquiries from interested parties

  • Support the preparation of investment committee materials, board presentations, and executive summaries for potential transactions

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, product, and engineering teams to facilitate due diligence processes and integration planning

  • Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, potential targets, and strategic opportunities in the streaming and advertising technology landscape

  • Maintain transaction pipeline tracking and status reporting for ongoing corporate & business development activities

  • Assist with post-merger integration activities and performance monitoring of completed transactions, and evaluate new business models and partnership frameworks that expand Samba’s market presence

  • Develop and maintain relationships with investment bankers, private equity firms, and other external advisors

  • Attend industry conferences and networking events to identify potential opportunities and maintain market awareness

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus but not required

  • 3-4 years of experience in investment banking (M&A or TMT coverage preferred), corporate development, business development, private equity, venture capital, or top-tier management consulting

  • Advanced financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel and experience building discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses

  • Experience using tools like PitchBook, Capital IQ, or Crunchbase for market intelligence and transaction research

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial and business information and communicate findings clearly and concisely to senior leadership

  • Experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements, key performance metrics, and business models, ideally including international deals and transactions

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience creating executive-level presentations

  • Interest in or knowledge of the media, entertainment, advertising technology, or data analytics industries preferred

  • Prior exposure to commercial deal structuring, partnership development, or data licensing is a plus

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to travel as needed for due diligence and deal execution
