Role Overview:
Corporate Vice President- TDAV Finance
The Finance Business Partnering team within the Tech, Data, AI & Ventures (TDAV) Finance department is looking for a Corporate Vice President role that focuses on partnering with finance, business, and technology stakeholders to maintain and enhance Strategic Investment planning, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) processes, which includes consolidation of monthly results, planning, forecasting, and ad-hoc analysis.
The role aims to enhance cost visibility and enable fact-based decision-making across IT and business functions. The ideal candidate will support the Apptio suite of applications, data governance, reporting, and dashboarding needs across various service owners and cost centers. This position requires problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to identify automation opportunities and other process simplifications. The role also requires the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
This position requires advanced analytical and communication skill sets to ensure requests are understood, processed and delivered within applicable time frames, and in accordance with New York Life's accounting policies and specific technical requirements. A strong ability to work independently, as well as a member of a cross-functional team is expected.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $119,000-$170,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.

What You'll Do:
- Responsible for building strategic relationships with appropriate stakeholders within Finance and Business areas
- Lead/support the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial reporting processes
- Analyze financial performance and key business trends; develop insights and recommendations to drive performance
- Deliver the budget, planning, forecasting, and reporting processes with the ability to interface regularly with business relationship managers, and key financial contacts
- Ability to provide value add analytics to ensure various levels of management understand key drivers of financial information
- Partner with business units to understand operational drivers and ensure alignment with financial goals
- Prepare executive-level presentations (e.g., CFO review materials, leadership reviews)
- Maintain and improve financial models, tools, and reporting dashboards
- Support scenario planning, cost optimization initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Strategy, Operations, and HR teams.
- Build and enhance dashboards within Apptio or Tableau to communicate cost drivers, KPIs, and service consumption metrics
- Maintain data dictionaries, service catalogs, and IT cost transparency models critical to delivering the Bill of IT
What You'll Bring:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems, data/business analytics, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in IT financial management, technology business management, finops, data analytics, cost accounting, or systems support roles.
- Hands-on experience with Apptio, including any combination of Cost Transparency, Planning, or Target Process modules.
- Understanding of IT service costing, cost allocation, and financial modeling concepts.
- Proficiency in Excel, data integration, and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems (ERP, CMDB, cloud billing, project tracking tools).
- Ability to work with large data sets across disparate sources (e.g., GL, HR, cloud, on-prem IT).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan, Oracle, SAP, Workday Adaptive, or similar.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify complex financial data.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cost allocations, CapEx vs. OpEx distinctions, and SaaS or technology business models.
- Experience working in matrixed or enterprise environments
