The Credit Marketing & Communications group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Credit Communications team as an Assistant Vice President, Content (Editorial Focus) in Toronto.
The Assistant Vice President, Content (Editorial Focus) is responsible for editorial quality, consistency, and process excellence across all published content. This role leads efforts to standardize editorial practices globally, maintain and evolve style guidance, and improve turnaround times without compromising quality. The AVP will manage and develop a team of editors, serve as a steward of editorial standards, and drive operational and technological improvements, including thoughtful adoption of AI tools.

$75,600.00-110,874.00

The Credit Marketing & Communications group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Credit Communications team as an Assistant Vice President, Content (Editorial Focus) in Toronto.
The Assistant Vice President, Content (Editorial Focus) is responsible for editorial quality, consistency, and process excellence across all published content. This role leads efforts to standardize editorial practices globally, maintain and evolve style guidance, and improve turnaround times without compromising quality. The AVP will manage and develop a team of editors, serve as a steward of editorial standards, and drive operational and technological improvements, including thoughtful adoption of AI tools.
Job Responsibilities:
Editorial Quality and Standards
- Own and continuously improve editorial quality, consistency, and accuracy across regions and asset classes.
- Maintain, refine, and govern content style guides and editorial conventions; resolve inconsistencies and clarify best practices.
- Oversee quality control, including tracking recurring issues, managing website corrections, and using data to drive improvements.
Process Standardization and Efficiency
- Lead efforts to standardize editorial workflows, templates, and conventions across analytical groups and regions where feasible.
- Identify and streamline inefficient or complex editorial processes, improving turnaround times and scalability.
- Partner with Production/Design and other stakeholders to optimize handoffs and sequencing of editorial and design work.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage, coach, and mentor editors and copy editors through structured onboarding, ongoing feedback, and performance reviews.
- Lead regular team meetings and one‑on‑ones, reinforcing expectations and encouraging collaboration across offices and time zones.
- Develop and deliver training for editors and analysts focused on editorial standards, process changes, and recurring issues.
Workflow and Operational Management
- Co‑manage the daily editorial queue, prioritizing urgent items and ensuring appropriate coverage across regions and time zones.
- Maintain oversight of shared tools and documentation used to track process changes, exceptions, and learnings.
AI Adoption and Governance
- Lead the responsible adoption of AI to support editorial work, such as style‑guide application, consistency checks, and error detection.
- Develop and maintain AI‑enabled tools or macros that enhance efficiency while preserving editorial judgment.
- Provide training and guidance on responsible AI usage, credibility, and sourcing in published content.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience developing written content in collaboration with stakeholders.
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of writers and editors.
Base Salary Compensation Range
$75,600.00-110,874.00
Incentive Target Percentage
12.5% Annual
