Responsibilities

  • The main functions of the position consist of extract information from LIONS, PACER, the Judgment in a Criminal Case and the Pre-sentence Report, and open criminal cases with minimal supervision.
  • Promptly creates a case folder, and generates the initial demand letter, lien, probation letter/ prison letter, priority code memorandum and memorandum to the victim-witness coordinator.
  • Delivers the case folder and opening documents to the FLU agent/investigator in a timely manner Coordinates with the criminal prosecutors, financial investigators within the Financial Litigation Unit, probation officers, and Clerk of the District Court to ensure that the Government is able to enforce restitution judgments on behalf of victims of crime.
  • Generates reports for the Financial Litigation Unit to assist in criminal and civil debt collection, such as, the pre-sentence report from the United States Probation Department, Lexis-Nexis asset reports, credit reports, and the United States Bureau of Prison Sentry report.
  • Ensure reports are run promptly and all sensitive reports are maintained in a secured manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Requirements
  • High School diploma, bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and researching factual and legal issues in complex criminal and civil matters.
  • Ability to review and analyze data and information from multiple sources
  • Ability to establish case/project files
  • Ability to enter and retrieve data from data bases
  • Ability to prepare and format management reports
  • Ability to manipulate, transfer, and compute and print information
  • Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets
  • Ability to prepare and correct reports and correspondence using word processing software
This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.
