T-REX is seeking a Data Services Specialist to support the growth and success of our business. The Data Services Specialist interprets data with the purpose of turning it into usable information which can offer ways to improve business decisions and performance. The Data specialist gathers information from various sources and interprets it, mapping the data to a normalized data structure in order to tell a narrative on the state of key business topics. The data services specialist ensures timely and accurate updates in order to make them available to T-REX users. This ideal candidate  has financial markets background and is a subject-matter-expert (SME)  in the structured credit and/or project finance markets. The Data Specialist will collaborate and work closely with the  Data Engineering  and Product teams, as well as client development organization.

What you’ll do:  

The Data Services Specialist is responsible for staying current on market and data trends, while maintaining a deep knowledge of the T-REX products and how our data is represented throughout. Functions will include:

• Manage the on-boarding of data sets received from clients, servicers, trustees and other sources in order to make them actionable on our platform
  • Properly identify and normalize all data to T-REX data fields
  • Engage and manage data pipelines working closely with data engineers
  • Ensure and be responsible for data quality and timeliness
• Manage, develop and own our data models and dictionaries
  • Establish and maintain governance of our data models and data dictionaries
  • Define new fields to be added
  • Collaborate with other SMEs and clients to build out data models and data dictionaries
• Be the T-REX Data Expert internally and externally
  • Establish relationships with the data managers from our clients and prospects
  • Support by  answering questions on our data fields, dictionaries and how they work within our system
  • Establish relationships with 3rd party sources of data to ensure a seamless flow of information

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years experience in ABS structuring (or related financial products, such as project finance) and understanding of advanced financial concepts
• Experience working with structured finance platforms and/or custom-built Excel models for securitization and/or financing
• Experience supporting complex solutions for financial institutions, across any sector of the investment lifecycle
• Client facing experience (internal or external), ideally in a support role with a consultative approach to problem solving
• Be a problem-solver, willing to take initiative and get the bottom of the most complex issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex topics and models to people with varying backgrounds
• Team player with the ability to work independently and drive processes across the team
