The Day Habilitation Manager assists the Day Habilitation Coordinator in the daily operation of the dayhab center including staff supervision, treatment planning and maintenance of the physical plant to ensure quality services to all individuals and assists in maximizing the functioning of developmental disabled adults.


Screening

The Day Habilitation Manager is responsible for participating in the screening process for applicants interested in joining Day Habilitation services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Conducting outreach to community entities to generate interest in the program and coordinate trial visits.

· Ensuring all logistics are planned and organized so new individuals can seamlessly participate in a trial visit or trial run.

· Providing feedback and input to Birch leadership regarding whether Birch services are appropriate for the individual.

Work Experience and Recreational Activity Development

As the program expert for the members served, the Day Habilitation Manager leads efforts to create unpaid work experiences and engaging recreational activities aligned with each individual's goals and interests. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Developing volunteer experiences in fields of interest within integrated community settings. While the Day Habilitation Manager may collaborate with Operations Coordinators and other staff to create opportunities, the Day Habilitation Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring opportunities and experiences are developed in a timely manner.

· Contacting and engaging potential community partners through in-person outreach, phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other appropriate methods to establish consistent work or volunteer opportunities.

· Researching and creating schedules that include highly engaging and integrated recreational activities at the main Day Habilitation site and in the community to promote engagement, independence, and personal development.

· Providing travel training as needed and/or assisting with securing alternative transportation to and from community experiences.

· Maintaining ongoing relationships with community partners and addressing concerns or issues as they arise.

· Working outside of the typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday schedule when program needs require it.

Personal Organization

The Day Habilitation Manager is required to maintain personal organization systems that support timely completion of all position deliverables. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Maintaining task lists and follow-up systems for work with the Operations Coordinator/ and each staff member, including next steps after meetings, observations, or ing sessions.

· Ensuring all staff complete data collection by the end of each day by creating and maintaining schedules that allow for timely documentation.

· Ensuring Life Plan meetings occur twice per year and Staff Action Plans are developed and distributed in a timely manner.

· Developing and supervising the implementation of Staff Action Plan goals.

· Maintaining all required files and documentation related to the management and operation of the Day Habilitation program.

Communication, Assessment, Observation, and Documentation

The Day Habilitation Manager is required to maintain necessary communication with family members, residential managers, care managers, service coordinators, and other members of the support team as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Assessing individuals to determine habilitation needs.

· Participating in Life Plan meetings and sending meeting recaps or notes as appropriate.

· Developing and supervising the implementation of Staff Action Plan goals and the Individual Plan of Protective Oversight.

· Monitoring the integration of services and making changes to SAP and IPOP objectives as needed.

· Performing observations and spot checks to monitor goal implementation.

· Retraining staff and revising goals as needed based on observations and clinical recommendations.

· Ensuring staff write detailed data collection notes in PrecisionCare on a daily and monthly basis.

· Providing, training, and feedback when documentation does not meet expectations.

Supervision and Support

The Day Habilitation Manager will meet with a or Operations Coordinator at least once per week. The Day Habilitation Manager is expected to proactively identify progress toward position goals, determine what is on track or not on track, and propose solutions and next steps to meet intended outcomes. The Day Habilitation Manager is encouraged to seek guidance from colleagues and external partners to support continued professional development and program success.

Training and Miscellaneous Responsibilities

The Day Habilitation Manager is required to participate in all required and mandated trainings and maintain all certifications required for the position. The Day Habilitation Manager is also responsible for communicating, monitoring, and overseeing completion of required in-house and OPWDD training requirements for supervised staff.

· Experience working with individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.

· Demonstrated background, passion, and proven results in teaching or ing others.

· Passion for creating engaging, meaningful experiences for individuals with unique needs.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· General knowledge of theories and methods of applied behavior analysis.

· Foundational understanding of teaching strategies and goal development.

· Effective personal organization systems.

· Basic computer proficiency.
