NYC Alliance Company LLC is seeking an experienced and visionary Design Director to lead the Women’s Soft Wovens category across our discount businesses. This role is responsible for setting the creative direction and driving the end-to-end design process, from concept through final production, ensuring all product aligns with brand aesthetics, customer expectations, and evolving market trends. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of creativity and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate insights into compelling, market-relevant collections. This leader will play a critical role in shaping seasonal strategies, elevating product quality, and fostering innovation, while mentoring and developing a high-performing design team. Working cross-functionally, the Design Director will ensure cohesive brand storytelling and deliver product that meets both creative and business objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall design vision and seasonal strategy for the Women’s Soft Wovens category

• Develop innovative, trend-forward product that resonates with target customers and meets commercial objectives

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, fostering creativity while maintaining high standards of execution

• Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing to ensure cohesive storytelling and brand alignment

• Analyze market trends, fabrics, and emerging techniques, translating insights into actionable design direction

• Oversee the creation of tech packs, spec sheets, and production-ready documentation with accuracy and efficiency

• Participate in fittings, providing expert direction on garment construction, fit, and overall product refinement


Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field

• 8+ years of design experience, with a strong background soft wovens

• Proven success leading and developing high-performing design teams

• Strong ability to interpret and execute brand identity across multiple product lines

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office

• Deep knowledge of garment construction, fit, and manufacturing processes

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
