The Short Version

Seafoam is an established marketing agency that made a deliberate choice to move away from commodity work and toward strategy that actually moves businesses forward. We need a senior strategist to own the visibility engine that feeds it.

This role leads how our clients get found: paid media, SEO, local search, and the emerging world of AI-driven discovery. You'll work across a sharp team, present directly to client leadership, and build strategies that connect the top of the funnel to real business outcomes, not just traffic numbers.

If you've spent years doing this work and you're tired of agencies that optimize for vanity metrics and slow-walk the hard conversations, this might be the right seat.

What You'll Actually Own

Visibility strategy, end to end. You'll build and lead integrated strategies across paid media, SEO, local search, and AI-driven discovery platforms — not execute someone else's playbook. You translate client business goals into how the right audiences find them, and you own the measurement framework that proves it's working.

SEO that goes beyond keywords. Full-cycle SEO: architecture-informed keyword research, content strategy, technical recommendations, metadata, schema, redirects, analytics setup, and quarterly audits. You know what levers to pull and why.

Paid media with purpose. You lead paid campaigns with an eye toward funnel design and message alignment and you feed paid insights back into organic strategy. You think in systems, not silos.

Local search for multi-location clients. Citation management, map pack visibility, geo-targeted performance tracking. You've done this before and don't need to be trained on why it matters.

AI-driven discovery. This is where things get interesting. You stay ahead of how SGE, ChatGPT search, and algorithm shifts are changing how people find businesses and you translate that into real strategy for clients before they're asking for it.

Lead quality, not just lead volume. You work closely with our team and the client to validate whether the traffic you're generating is actually producing qualified demand. The metric that matters is pipeline, not pageviews.

What We're Looking For

Six or more years in digital marketing strategy, with real depth in at least three of the core disciplines this role covers. You've presented to senior clients and held your ground. You build dashboards people actually use. You've configured GA4 and GTM from scratch and know where the bodies are buried.

More importantly: you think strategically first and tactically second. You connect visibility work to business outcomes without being asked to. You're intellectually curious about where search is going, not just where it's been.

You work well in a small, high-trust environment where there's no bureaucracy to hide behind... and you prefer it that way.

Why Seafoam

Our clients are companies with ambition: leaders who are actively building something, protecting something they've earned, or pushing their brand into new territory. They care about getting it right, which means the work matters and the conversations are good.

We've won consistent industry recognition for our work. We have a methodology we believe in. We're growing intentionally, not frantically.

St. Louis-based. Hybrid. Compensation commensurate with what a senior person actually costs.

Benefits

We take care of the people who do good work here. That means top-tier health, dental, and vision coverage, 401k with matching, a free gym membership, hybrid remote and in-office flexibility, unlimited PTO, two weeks of paid holiday vacation, and $2,000 in annual professional development funds you can spend on equipment, courses, certifications, or whatever makes you sharper.
