VAST Data is looking to hire a Director of Cloud Product Management!

This is a great opportunity to be part of one of the fastest-growing infrastructure companies in history, an organization that is in the center of the hurricane being created by the revolution in artificial intelligence.

"VAST's data management vision is the future of the market."- Forbes

VAST Data is the data platform company for the AI era. We are building the enterprise software infrastructure to capture, catalog, refine, enrich, and protect massive datasets and make them available for real-time data analysis and AI training and inference. Designed from the ground up to make AI simple to deploy and manage, VAST takes the cost and complexity out of deploying enterprise and AI infrastructure across data center, edge, and cloud.

Our success has been built through intense innovation, a customer-first mentality and a team of fearless VASTronauts who leverage their skills & experiences to make real market impact. This is an opportunity to be a key contributor at a pivotal time in our company’s growth and at a pivotal point in computing history.

The Role

We're looking for a Cloud Product Manager to join our growing Cloud PM team. You'll own the product strategy and execution for VAST's cloud-native offerings across hyperscaler and neocloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, CoreWeave, Lambda, and more). This isn't a "write PRDs and hand them off" role. You'll be embedded with engineering, working directly with cloud partners and customers, and shaping the product from architecture to GTM. If you've shipped cloud infrastructure products and want to work at the intersection of storage, AI, and distributed systems, this is the role.

What You'll Do

  • Own product strategy for VAST's cloud platform across one or more hyperscaler/neocloud partnerships
  • Define requirements, prioritize the roadmap, and ship cloud native features (marketplace integrations, SaaS offerings)
  • Work directly with partner engineering teams at Microsoft, Google, AWS, and AI/neoclouds
  • Translate customer and field feedback into product direction; conduct customer discovery calls
  • Build and own TCO models, competitive positioning, and cloud pricing strategy
  • Collaborate with sales engineering on POC programs and cloud enablement
  • Present at industry events and produce thought leadership content
Requirements

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in product management for cloud infrastructure, storage, or AI platforms
  • Deep understanding of at least one hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI) at the infrastructure level
  • Experience shipping cloud-native products (SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS)
  • Comfort with distributed systems concepts: object storage, file systems, Kubernetes, NVMe-oF, erasure coding
  • Strong customer empathy; you've done discovery calls and translated pain into product
  • Ability to context-switch between strategic (12-month roadmap) and tactical (this sprint's blockers)
  • Excellent written communication; you can write a clear 1-pager, a compelling deck, and a sharp Slack message

Bonus Points

  • Experience at a hyperscaler (Microsoft, Google, AWS) or infrastructure startup
  • Background in storage, HPC, or AI/ML infrastructure
  • Familiarity with neocloud/GPU cloud providers (CoreWeave, Lambda, Crusoe)
  • Experience with enterprise sales motions and partner co-sell programs
  • You've built something from zero (product, team, or company)
