Whether you're behind the scenes or at the forefront of the brand, working at Pronghorn means stepping into purpose. We believe in bold ideas, relentless execution, and creating space for people to show up fully as themselves — and win.

Pronghorn Partner Collaboration (HQ)

At Pronghorn, we leverage powerful partnerships to build pathways. We proudly collaborate with some of the biggest and most respected names in the Spirits industry to connect bold talent with bold brands.

Whether you’re supporting internal growth or contributing to a partner initiative, you’ll gain real-world exposure, strategic access, and unmatched insight into an industry that’s being reshaped in real time. Every role has the potential to intersect with our partner network — driving visibility, impact, and results that go far beyond the job description.

About the role

The Director, Commercial Intelligence is the SVP, Commercial Development's embedded analytical thought partner, supporting commercial strategy across the full portfolio of Pronghorn brands. This role sits inside the highest-level commercial conversations, including distributor meetings in the field, bringing category, consumer, and account data to bear on the discussion in real time. The role's core value is analytical rigor and strategic insight, paired with a working understanding of distributor dynamics, without owning distributor management directly. This is a Director-level role reporting directly to the SVP, Commercial Development, and operating as a peer to the VP, Regional & National Accounts and Directors of Sales, and Director, Commercial Marketing.

What you'll do

  • Own the company's daily dashboard, tracking performance against plan, and providing actionable insights for the leadership team.
  • Own recurring commercial, consumer, and category insight reporting on a regular cadence for the SVP and leadership team across the portfolio, and respond to ad hoc analysis requests as strategic priorities shift
  • Build the analytical narrative behind commercial strategy across the portfolio — category trends, consumer segmentation, price-pack architecture implications, and whitespace / growth opportunity analysis
  • Own and maintain the distributor and key account performance scorecards used in SVP-level business reviews, ensuring data accuracy and consistency period over period
  • Own and manage the weekly field sales team scorecard — co-developed with the SVP — tracking performance across each brand's Directors, Sales Managers, AMMs, and SSSs; does not use the scorecard to direct or manage the field team's day-to-day work
  • Serve as the platform admin for the VIP suite of services.
  • Translate syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen / IRI), distributor depletion feeds, and consumer research into decision-ready analysis and recommendations for the SVP and broader leadership team
  • Proactively identify and flag emerging consumer or category trends before they surface as a problem or opportunity in the depletion or share numbers, for any brand in the portfolio
  • Partner with each portfolio brand's VP, Regional & National Accounts and Directors of Sales to pull account- and market-level data into a single, coherent cross-portfolio view, without directing their work or managing their teams
  • Accompany the SVP, Commercial Development into distributor and key account meetings across portfolio brands, arriving prepared with depletion trends, category and competitive share data, and consumer/shopper insights to inform the conversation in real time
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the portfolio's distribution footprint, key accounts, and competitive landscape sufficient to contribute meaningfully in real time during field and distributor conversations

Scope & Guardrails

  • Understands distributor dynamics and contributes meaningfully to distributor conversations, but does not own or negotiate distributor relationships or agreements directly
  • Has no direct reports today; though scope may evolve as the function grows
  • Carries a sales / performance target tied to overall team results across the portfolio, but does not own an individual book of accounts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or related field; MBA a plus
  • 8+ years of experience in consumer insights, category management, commercial analytics, or a related function, ideally within beverage alcohol or broader CPG
  • Working fluency with syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, NABCA where applicable) and distributor depletion/EDI reporting
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); comfort building models and dashboards from scratch
  • Working knowledge of the three-tier distribution system and how category, consumer, and account data connect to distributor and retail execution
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, able to synthesize complex data into a clear point of view for a senior audience, including in live distributor and account settings
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently alongside the SVP to markets and distributor meetings across the portfolio
  • Comfort working across multiple brands and stakeholder groups simultaneously

Success Metrics

  • SVP-rated impact of insight brought into distributor and account meetings
  • Attainment of the team-based sales / performance target this role shares in across the portfolio
  • Lead time on emerging consumer/category trends flagged ahead of showing up in depletion or share data
  • Accuracy of category/consumer forecasts and projections against actuals
  • Turnaround time on ad hoc analysis requests from the SVP
  • Timeliness, accuracy, and clarity of recurring commercial/consumer/category insight reporting and scorecards for the SVP and leadership team
