Control System Integration & Development
- Lead the integration of a x-GEV control systems solutions for complex power projects (data center applications & large hybrids). Work closely with key stakeholders across controls engineering and product management teams of x- GE Vernova business units to deliver those solutions.
- Define control system architecture and functional requirements for data center & large hybrid power solutions, including fully islanded and grid-connected configurations.
- Ensure harmonization of control strategies across equipment-level, plant-level, and system-wide applications.
Cross-Business Coordination & Communication
- Establish a structured framework for defining functional requirements, control philosophy, operability constraints, and protection strategies to facilitate cross business and cross technology controls solutions development.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that controls engineering teams align on requirements, limitations, and system operability needs.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication across controls engineering teams of GE Vernova business units, keeping all stakeholders informed of data center and hybrid systems technical requirements and how those requirements may impact components of the integrated power solution.
Product Lifecycle Ownership & NPI Leadership
- Identify gaps in system-level controls solutions and lead cross-business NPI initiatives to develop controls solutions that address these gaps.
- Oversee the lifecycle of new control products, from concept and definition through design, validation, and deployment.
- Ensure coordination of NPI efforts within specific GE Vernova businesses, proactively aligning development initiatives with other business units.
- Coordinate systems simulation testing and validation efforts to ensure control systems (and any new controls products it may include) meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements of data center and large hybrid applications.
- Actively participate in strategic planning and development of GE Vernova controls products & service offerings and new product/technology introductions (NPI/NTI) concurrent with business needs, with particular focus and influence on systems operability, stability and integration in collaboration with CS teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in controls or electrical engineering or a similar field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 10 years of experience in controls engineering roles in the power generation or electrification field, preferably in controls design and integration roles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leading cross functional teams.
- Familiarity with controls NPI process.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in electrical, controls or electric power systems engineering from an accredited university of college
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to lead teams to high value technical solutions
- Experience in designing control systems for islanded and grid connected power systems
- Hands-on experience with control platforms, including Mark VIe, EX2100, SCADA, EMS, HPCi controls, and PLC-based systems.
- Experience in GE Vernova control systems testing and commissioning.
- Extensive understanding of grid code compliance. demonstrated ability to translate grid code requirements into control system functional specifications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to effectively communicate across various levels of the organization) and exceptionally strong written and oral communication
- Widely recognized and awarded global industry stature and leadership in industry institutions (ESIG, GPST, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE) with prolific publication in technical articles and journals, technical and institutional standards and technical regulatory requirements.
- Extensive understanding of Data Center power supply needs, electronic load characteristics and profiles, grid integration risks and requirements.
- Experience in grid automation and control, cross sector and cross-technology integration, power transfer capability, voltage & frequency stability, first-swing dynamics, sub-synchronous oscillations, transient voltage recovery, harmonics and system transients, insulation coordination and application of series compensated transmission.
- Extensive understanding of power electronic hardware and controls for utility and industrial applications such as SVC, TCSC, STATCOM, HVDC, wind turbines, solar and energy storage inverters, variable speed pumped hydropower storage and motor drives
- Extensive understanding and experience in planning and executing electrical and mechanical tests in thermal and renewable power plants to meet grid code and interconnection requirements and validating utility planning models per requirements from NERC and other global jurisdictions
- Strong project management, coordination and planning skills.
- Familiarity with grid codes, protection schemes, and system-level operational constraints in power networks.
- Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for industrial control systems and grid-connected solutions.
- Experience with using and modeling in power system simulation and analytical tools such as GE PSLF, PSS/e, DigSilent Power Factory, GE MAPS, GE MARS, Plexos, Promod, Tara, TSAT, PSCAD and Python.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
