Compensation Range:

Position Summary

The Director of Enrollment is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership of new prospect engagement, new student growth, new start performance, and successful student onboarding. This role provides direction and management of teams that support individuals from initial inquiry and prospect engagement through enrollment and the completion of their first course.Key areas of oversight include new prospect and inquiry management, new student pipeline performance, enrollment conversion, course scheduling readiness, first-term retention, and persistence initiatives.

The Director ensures that staff are effectively engaging prospects, guiding students through the enrollment process, and preparing enrolled students to begin their first class. This includes proactively identifying barriers, addressing readiness gaps, and providing timely, personalized support to promote strong student starts and early-term success.his leadership role drives performance outcomes through data-informed decision-making, cross-departmental collaboration, and continuous process improvement, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience from first inquiry through the successful completion of the first course.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with Sr. Enrollment Leader to develop and execute annual, monthly, and weekly enrollment strategies that support new student growth, new start performance, and early‑term retention. Monitors progress against forecast, ensures high‑quality service delivery to prospective and newly enrolled students, and submits reports, observations, and forecasts accurately and on time.
  • Provides strategic oversight of day‑to‑day enrollment operations, ensuring processes, staffing, and workflows effectively support new student onboarding, course scheduling readiness, and persistence through the first course. Determines appropriate staffing levels to meet performance goals and budget expectations.
  • Actively leads recruitment, hiring, training, and development of new team members, ensuring the team is well‑equipped to support students from inquiry through successful course start and early‑term engagement.
  • Coaches and develops Associate Directors, Team Leads, and Enrollment Advisors/Specialists, building leadership capability, strengthening team performance, and preparing staff for future opportunities within the University.
  • Conducts regular coaching through interview observations, call audits, and performance reviews, providing actionable feedback to improve advising skills, service levels, and support throughout the student onboarding and first‑course journey. Completes all required documentation thoroughly.
  • Partners with campus leadership to ensure appropriate resources, staffing, and support are in place to meet application, new student start, and retention goals.
  • Collaborates closely with Faculty, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Support Services to ensure alignment, smooth handoffs, and successful student progression from enrollment through the first course.
  • Develops and implements short‑ and long‑term enrollment strategies focused on increasing new student growth, improving onboarding readiness, and strengthening first‑term persistence.
  • Designs and enhances processes, systems, and tools to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of Admissions/Enrollment operations, including those related to course scheduling and first‑course support.
  • Ensures performance and service standards are consistently met across the Enrollment team, with a focus on student experience, operational quality, and team accountability.
  • Completes other duties and projects as assigned in support of organizational priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibility Associate Director of Admissions (ADOA) and Associate Director of Enrollment (5-8) and second level supervisory responsibility for the Enrollment Advisors and Enrollment Specialists under the ADOA and ADOE.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Seven (7) years Enrollment, Admissions, or Sales/Operations experience
  • Five (5) years leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
  • All skills, abilities and qualifications will be considered for minimum requirements
  • Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position.
