The Director, Global Commercial Strategy - Oncology is responsible for working with research, development, marketing and the cross-functional team to drive commercial decision-making for the early-stage, late-stage and business development opportunities in the Oncology pipeline. This role will be responsible for long term vision, commercial assessment, and investment case development for a range of early / late-stage assets, life cycle options and technology platforms. In addition, the role will also be responsible for leading / supporting key strategic initiatives portfolio-wide.
What You Will Achieve
The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and support the team through key strategic decisions for Pfizer's oncology portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
This position will be a key interface to Global Marketing, R&D, Medical, Regulatory, PDA, GAV, BD, and all partner functions to facilitate execution of asset plans and support asset progression through governance stage-gates and endorsements by OSGT and enterprise governance bodies. He / She will play an important influential leadership role to foster a strong, collaborative partnership culture.
Lead commercial / strategic assessments and drive commercial planning to support development of asset / technology platform business cases, including:
1) Evaluating and maintaining a comprehensive view of the dynamic competitive landscape at the asset / MOA / tumor / oncology level
2) Leading comprehensive analysis of market trends, treatment trends, evolving standard of care and competitive developments globally
3) Providing commercial input to the development strategies to optimally develop assets
4) In close partnership with key stakeholders, drive pipeline asset and disease area strategies, commercial assessments, product concepts, target product profiles, strategic scenario planning, and asset investment decisions.
Make appropriate strategic and investment recommendations to OSGT, PMT and Pfizer governance bodies.
Create and update portfolio decision making tools and systems to provide state-of-the-art tools that are aligned and applied consistently across the portfolio.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
• Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 7 years of experience; OR a PhD with 5+ years of experience
• E xperience in commercial development, marketing, new product launch or strategy in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology companies
• Experience in Strategy Consulting and/or Commercial organizations is preferred
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
• Strong understanding of Oncology landscape and emerging trends
• Prior Commercial Development experience with commercial planning, decision-making and driving value of early-stage pipeline assets
• Experience progressing assets through stage-gates (POC, DP3 etc) and presenting asset business cases to senior management
• Hands-on experience leading financial valuation, forecasting, business proposal and/or other related projects
• Experience interfacing/collaborating with Research, Development, Regulatory, and other functions
• Ability to influence without direct authority
• Demonstrated leadership of cross functional matrix teams and developing a collaborative culture
• A high sense of urgency with a focus on driving decisions in the face of incomplete and imperfect information
• Experience in long term strategic plan development and execution
• Experience with global product launches and developing pre-launch positioning and strategies

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
