Director, Global Network Economics & Value Optimization
Overview
The Global Network Economics and Value Optimization (NEVO) team Partners with all regions and global business units to execute changes in economics aligned to product- and market-led strategy under a consistent framework. Leads the execution of strategic Economics & Value Optimization initiatives that are complex and the scope require a global view and coordination. Advocates and drives revenue optimization, simplicity, enhanced customer and employee experience, and adherence to principles. Has a privileged position with visibility to the most material and impactful initiatives across the organization, allowing it to influence and enrich many commercial conversations, through innovative and strategic thinking and a broad and deep cross-market and multi-functional knowledge.
This role would involve analyzing market trends, developing new economic models, and collaborating with product and regional pricing teams to maximize revenue and profitability.
This role will support MasterCard's goal of profitable market share through several key initiatives and play a key role in developing & implementing pricing and interchange strategies, building new tools to inform how we set our network economics, and conducting analysis as needed on strategic questions & issues.
Role:
Responsible for developing data-driven innovative scalable analytical solutions and identifying opportunities to support Pricing and Interchange team in a quantitative manner and facilitate informed recommendations / decisions. • Activities include performing simulations and creating predictive models, behavioral segmentation frameworks, profitability analyses, ad hoc reporting, and data visualizations. • Work closely with global & regional pricing teams to architect, develop, and maintain advanced reporting and data visualization capabilities on large volumes of data to support analytics and reporting needs across products, markets, and services. • Contributes to the development of custom analyses and solutions, derives insights from extracted data to solve critical business questions. • Translates client/ stakeholder needs into technical analyses and/or solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners and presents findings and outcomes to clients/stakeholders. • Accountable for delivering high quality project solutions and tools within agreed upon timelines and budget parameters and conducting post- implementation reviews. • Serves as a primary point of contact for client managers and liaises frequently with internal stakeholders to gather data or inputs needed for project work. • Delegates and reviews work for junior level colleagues to ensure downstream applications and tools are not compromised or delayed. • Serves as a mentor for junior-level colleagues, and develops talent via ongoing technical training, peer review etc.
All About You: • Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm to apply data to discover and solve business challenges and questions. • Prior experience in data management, data mining, data analytics, data modeling and reporting, data product development and quantitative analysis. • Advanced SQL skills, ability to write optimized queries for large data sets. • Experience on Platforms/Environments: Cloudera Hadoop, Big data technology stack, SQL Server, Microsoft BI Stack, Cloud, Snowflake, and other relevant technologies. • Experience on Python, Scala, Hive, Impala, Spark, Cloud, and other related technologies. • Experience in data pipeline creation via tools such as Alteryx, SSIS etc. • Advanced knowledge of any of the job scheduling tools such as Apache Airflow, NIFI, and other related tools. • Experience with any one of data visualization tools (Tableau, Alteryx, and/or Power BI/similar tools). • Experience with data validation, quality control and cleansing processes to new and existing data sources. • Experience developing complex analytics applications and data consulting. • Financial Institution or a Payments experience a plus • Problem solving mentality, resourcefulness and creativity in identifying solutions. • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build professional relationship, influence and negotiate. • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner with both technical and non-technical customers. • Software development life cycle experience on analytics engagements across strategy, design and implementation • Prior experience with machine learning algorithms and methods, predictive analytics and optimization models and leveraging APIs is desirable

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
