The purpose of this position is to lead individual, multi-disciplined real estate project solutions for MetLife with direct accountability for project success. As a Director within the Project Management team, this role will be responsible for leading and delivering a wide variety of real estate construction/Fit Out/Refurbishment projects both Domestically and Internationally. This role is responsible for the entire life cycle of a project, from conception through budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution and ultimately closeout. This role is heavily focused on client / colleague experience by consistently providing innovative solutions with the ability to be nimble and switch between task in order of priority.This position is expected to communicate effectively with all departments and stakeholders, providing differential value for our company and customers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects of all sizes, including global complex cross-functional projects requiring alignment from all Regions.
  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle and take ownership of delivering across all project stages. Including but not limited to internal stakeholders, procurement, designers, contractors, furniture, technology, move managers etc.
  • Build and apply change management plans, and help define operational teams, roadmaps, communication plans and templates for the managed projects are high regarded tasks for this role.
  • Support project stakeholders in defining & writing business programmatic requirements, which will include collaborating with Technology teams to determine the technology aspects of projects.
  • Make the right tradeoff between schedule, resources, and scope to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project.
  • Assemble project teams, define mechanisms of team collaboration and schedule appropriate interaction.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders, being either project management counterparts in other regions or project sponsors and other stakeholders when leading global projects.
  • Manage all financials and reporting requirements.
  • Process Purchase Orders and Invoices
  • Dive deep into data and documentation to support the analysis needed for project delivery.
  • Be able to strategize with project sponsors, challenge outcomes and propose deliverables to ensure fit for purpose and scalable solutions.
  • Facilitate project kick-off meetings, and project status meetings with internal staff and key stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are communicated and understood.
  • Identify and address areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate information provided and translate into appropriate project actions.
  • Flexibility to pivot the project when external or internal factors impact scope or timeline.
  • Record and manage all project tasks, sharing with the project team and following up for completion by due dates.
  • Provide regular detailed reporting on project status, calling out critical milestones, risks with impact and mitigations, and blockers.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

  • 5-10 years' experience managing all scales of Construction/Fit Out/Refurbishment projects.
  • Experience in managing global projects, particularly in real estate but also facilities projects and operations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to read and analyze construction plans, design through construction documents.
  • Drive to deliver results and true client satisfaction.
  • Comfortable working across multiple geographies, cultures, virtually, across time zones, in a highly dynamic organization.
  • The candidate must be at ease with launching projects without much data.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, combining ability to dive deep into data and anecdotal feedback, analyze status quo and synthesize findings.
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to prioritize and escalate in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Hands on approach, show attention to detail and ownership.
  • Proven track record interacting with multiple stakeholders at all levels of an organization, establishing effective relationships.
  • Great communication skills are a must, written and verbal. Combined with ability to moderate large forums, facilitate dialog with stakeholders and clearly present outcomes and risks.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and manage differing needs of the business organization.
  • Fluent English written and verbalized.
  • Strength in Excel, Scheduling, CAD, In Design


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Familiar with leading remote and global clients a plus.
  • LEED / Fitwell experience / certification a plus
  • Other languages a plus
  • Fluent Spanish written and verbalized - not required but considered a plus
