JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX News Media is looking for a Director, Insights & Analytics to lead data and analytics for our subscription services portfolio. Anchored today by FOX Nation, a premium subscription streaming service, this leader will own all subscription analytics across the full and growing portfolio.


This is an entrepreneurial, high-visibility role for someone who is energized by ambiguity and wants to help build a business, not just report on it. You will be equally comfortable writing complex SQL to get to the data yourself, defining a brand-new subscriber metric framework from scratch, and presenting acquisition and retention insight to senior executives.


You will own the full subscriber lifecycle covering acquisition, engagement, and retention and translating consumer and revenue data into clear, decision-ready narratives that shape content, marketing, product, and pricing strategy across our subscription products.  This role will have two direct reports who will be focused on optimizing marketing strategies, spend to drive acquisition, retention and engagement on our platforms.


A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES 

  • Own end-to-end subscription analytics for FOX Nation and, as the portfolio grows, for additional subscription services across FOX News Media, spanning acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, churn, win-back, and lifetime value
  • Independently access, query, and interrogate data using advanced SQL, you will frequently be the one getting to the answer directly, not waiting on it
  • Define and evolve the subscriber analytics framework and metric definitions that will serve as the standard across current and future subscription products
  • Lead engagement analysis for FOX Nation across web, mobile app, CTV, social, third-party platforms, and FOX One — pulling data directly and partnering with other analytics, product, and data engineering teams to source what you need
  • Manage and develop two Managers, setting priorities across business units, allocating coverage as demand shifts, and reviewing analytical work before it reaches senior stakeholders
  • Partner with Marketing, CRM, Content, Product, Finance, and Data Engineering to turn insight into action across the full subscriber lifecycle
  • Analyze cohorts, subscriber segments, pricing/packaging, promotional performance, and CRM impact to inform acquisition and retention strategy
  • Serve as a trusted analytics partner to senior stakeholders (VP/SVP/C-suite and cross-company partners), delivering concise, executive-ready narratives that drive decisions
  • Have regular strategic discussions around content spend, marketing spend, operational strategies and how they related to subscription analytics
  • Support the convergence of FOX Nation with the FOX One ecosystem, ensuring measurement consistency and a unified view of the subscriber
  • Establish and uphold strong data integrity, governance, and metric-definition standards across all subscription reporting
  • Partner with Data Engineering to influence data architecture, scalability, and reliability (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) as the subscription business grows

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Advanced SQL is essential, this leader must be able to independently access, join, and analyze data across large, complex, imperfect sources without relying on others to pull it
  • Deep subscription-model experience, ideally for a streaming or DTC service, a demonstrated command of the subscriber lifecycle (acquisition funnels, retention/churn, cohort analysis, LTV) and the levers that move it
  • Typically 8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or insights, including meaningful time in subscription, streaming, DTC, or media environments
  • Strong proficiency with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Hex)
  • A builder's mindset: proven ability to create structure, frameworks, and reporting in ambiguous, fast-changing situations
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication with the ability to distill complex analysis into clear business implications and recommended actions for senior audiences
  • Strong data integrity and governance instincts, with a track record of catching issues before they reach decision-makers
  • Demonstrated people-leadership ability: coaching and developing team members, delivering feedback in a clear, supportive, and developmental way, delegating effectively, and adapting communication style to different individuals and audiences
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with a track record of building trust across Marketing, Content, Product, Finance, and Data Engineering
  • Sound judgment on prioritization in a resource-constrained, high-growth environment

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-160,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
