We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, Internal Controls & Accounting Transformation to help modernize and strengthen our finance organization. This role will play a critical leadership role in remediating existing material weaknesses while driving broader accounting transformation initiatives that improve process scalability, operational efficiency, and financial reporting quality.
This position will work across finance, operations, and technology teams to rethink and redesign core accounting processes, embed sustainable controls, and help build a modern, globally scalable finance operating model. The ideal candidate combines deep accounting expertise, strong internal controls knowledge, and transformation experience, with the ability to lead change across complex organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Transformation Leadership
  • Serve as a change leader within the finance organization, helping drive the modernization and evolution of accounting processes and operating models.
  • Lead initiatives that simplify, standardize, and scale accounting processes while embedding effective internal controls.
  • Partner with finance leadership to implement best-in-class accounting practices and scalable process frameworks that support growth and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline manual processes, improve data quality, and accelerate financial reporting timelines.

Remediation & Control Modernization
  • Lead the remediation of identified material weaknesses, focusing on sustainable process redesign rather than tactical fixes. Own the business process controls.
  • Redesign key business processes to embed controls directly into operational workflows, reducing reliance on manual or detective controls.
  • Partner with internal audit and external auditors to ensure remediation strategies are forward-looking and aligned with long-term transformation goals.

Global Finance Process Design
  • Evaluate the structure and globalization of finance and accounting teams to identify opportunities for standardization and efficiency.
  • Support the development of globally consistent processes, control frameworks, and operating procedures.
  • Help design scalable finance processes that support a growing and increasingly global organization.

Financial Close & Technical Accounting Support
  • Provide leadership and support around financial close process improvements, including reducing close timelines and enhancing review procedures.
  • Review technical accounting matters and ensure appropriate controls and governance are incorporated into accounting processes.
  • Assist finance teams in building more efficient and reliable reporting processes.

Strategic Initiatives & Cross-Functional Projects
  • Lead or support cross-functional initiatives across accounting, finance operations, and technology.
  • Provide structured problem-solving and project leadership on high-impact finance initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to finance leadership on process design, governance, and control strategy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
  • 10-12+ years of experience in accounting, internal audit, consulting, or finance transformation roles.
  • Strong experience in process redesign, accounting transformation, or finance modernization initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of SOX, COSO frameworks, and internal control design, with experience remediating material weaknesses.
  • Experience working in complex or global finance organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional change initiatives and influence stakeholders across finance, operations, and technology.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to execute and manage multiple priorities concurrently.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment and drive change across multiple stakeholders.

Travel: 20-30%
