About the opportunity

Contentful is seeking a highly collaborative leader to drive both the strategy and tactical execution of our Marketing Operations function. Reporting to the VP of Performance and Growth, you’ll be responsible for optimizing our marketing technology and building the data processes that fuel the marketing team.

You’ll own and manage end-to-end marketing systems and processes that enable lead management, routing and scoring, lifecycle programs, and campaign delivery. You’ll oversee our martech stack with an eye toward enabling and optimizing our demand funnel, programs, channels, and campaigns through best-in-class tools. You’ll drive creating, documenting, teaching, and enforcing processes that make our teams faster and our outcomes measurable.

This is a highly cross-functional role partnering closely with Marketing, Revenue Operations, Sales, and IT to ensure our systems, data, and processes scale

What to expect?
  • Own and evolve the Marketing Operations strategy and operating model, balancing day-to-day execution with scalable process design and long-term platform roadmap.
  • Oversee the MarTech stack at Contentful to ensure tools and technologies are integrated, adopted, and used efficiently and strategically.
  • Manage the technical and operational aspects of key marketing systems used to capture, generate, route, nurture, and report on leads.
  • Improve marketing data foundations and hygiene across systems: lifecycle stage definitions, campaign and UTM governance, field standards, enrichment strategy, sync quality, and reporting consistency.
  • Own end-to-end lead management processes including routing, scoring, and follow-up workflows; ensure operational excellence across SLAs, exceptions, and continuous optimization.
  • Drive ongoing optimization of Marketo including lifecycle architecture, nurture operations, segmentation, templates, deliverability practices, and campaign QA.
  • Partner with Demand, Growth, and Web teams to operationalize high-performing acquisition and conversion experiences, ensuring seamless handoffs and measurement from first touch through pipeline and revenue.
  • Further operationalize Qualified (conversational marketing) experiences leveraging additional AI functionality and ensure routing, meeting conversion, and downstream reporting are instrumented end-to-end.
  • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities across marketing operations and the broader MarTech ecosystem, evaluating and operationalizing AI-enabled features and tools to streamline workflows, enhance targeting/segmentation and personalization, improve data quality and reporting/insight generation, and accelerate experimentation.
  • Establish and maintain a strong reporting and insights cadence—connecting program and channel performance to funnel conversion, pipeline contribution, and efficiency metrics.
  • Lead and develop the team with a focus on setting priorities, improving execution quality, increasing velocity, and strengthening testing and optimization discipline.
  • Own the quality, health, and governance of the marketing database including acquisition standards, enrichment, segmentation logic, deduplication, preference/consent management, and compliance.
  • Align closely with Revenue Operations, Sales, and SDR leadership to ensure lead processes, definitions, and scoring approaches reflect evolving motions and target segments.
  • Manage marketing compliance and governance programs in partnership with Legal/Privacy, including GDPR and data retention/consent best practices.
What you need to be successful?
  • 10+ years of Marketing Operations / Revenue Operations / Marketing Analytics experience, including experience leading and managing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of marketing automation and lifecycle operations; strong hands-on experience with Marketo preferred.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, ideally within scaling, high-growth organizations where processes and systems needed to mature quickly.
  • Strong understanding of marketing data, measurement, and reporting—able to translate quantitative insights into operational changes and business outcomes.
  • Expertise building and improving lead management practices including routing, scoring, and lifecycle stage definitions; comfortable evolving models as strategy, segments, and channels change.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders, integrated systems, and defined KPIs.
  • Deep understanding of the B2B demand funnel, programs, and metrics that drive revenue with experience reporting on performance and driving optimizations.
  • Familiarity with modern martech and related tooling (e.g., intent, enrichment, chat/conversational, ABM platforms); experience evaluating and implementing tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of compliance, data privacy, and governance practices including GDPR; experience implementing appropriate marketing compliance programs.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills to navigate ambiguity, resolve issues, and advocate for your team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills; able to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
