Who are we hiring?  

The Director Network Operations leads the team that operates and manages the deployed network infrastructure supporting the MSGE family of companies’ facilities and venues. The Director Network Operations will work with Enterprise Technology and respective venue Production and Technical Operations teams to understand business and technical requirements and to ensure live events are executed as intended. Director Network Operations will be responsible for managing subordinate network engineers, executing event support, Level 1 through 3 technical support, network infrastructure management, and identifying issues that required troubleshooting escalation. The Director Network Operations will execute infrastructure monitoring and event reporting. 

 

What will you do?   

  • Monitors managed network devices and virtual machines and executes Level 1 Support — alert handling, incident triage, service restart/restoration, and escalation. 
  • Ensures network engineering support is provided to Madison Square Garden Entertainment and Sphere Entertainment venues for all events. 
  • Ensures standard operating procedures are in place for alert handling, incident triage, escalation, and network infrastructure/circuit deployment and decommissioning. 
  • Maintains running configurations and diagrams of all WAN/LAN networks and generates technical documentation for required network changes. 
  • Executes event and network status reporting in coordination with the Venue Technology and respective venue Technical Operations teams. 
  • Works in close partnership with technical engineering teams and provides technical consultation to ensure successful system implementation. 
  • Responsible for providing the network services that enable venue business applications and communication platforms, working closely with application and capability owners to ensure application/capability availability. 
  • Additionally responsible for the following: 
    • Installation of network hardware and software. 
    • Management and maintenance of network infrastructure. 
    • Network monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools. 
    • Day-to-day network operations. 
    • Trouble ticket generation and response; carrier interface and escalations. 
    • Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes. 
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site 

 

What do you need to succeed?    

  • 10+ years of related experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Minimum of 10 years of enterprise network operations experience, must have experience managing geographically diverse teams of technologists 
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or computer engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 5 years of vendor management experience is required, must have managed complex vendor engagements with large organizations such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and others 
  • 3 years' experience supporting large events and venues 
  • Hands-on experience deploying various tool sets that support monitoring and alerting across diverse platforms — must have integration experience working with event correlation platforms and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow 
  • Experience with network management/monitoring tools such as Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, Catalyst Center, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller, SolarWinds, Cisco ThousandEyes, and Meinberg PTP Trackhound 

 

Special Requirements: 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24/7 security environment, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and nontraditional work hours as operational requirements dictate.

Pay Range
$134,000—$230,000 USD
