Purpose and Job Summary

 

Lument provides comprehensive capital solutions for multifamily, affordable, seniors and health care real estate.  This includes a full suite of financing and strategic solutions such as investment banking, mortgage banking, private equity, a variety of direct balance sheet lending potions, investment sales, and mergers and acquisitions.

 

The Director of Operations for the Multifamily Investment Sales business line will oversee operational strategy implementation, process optimization, and execution to support revenue growth and client service excellence. This role ensures the brokerage team operates efficiently, leveraging best practices in transaction management, compliance, marketing, technology and data analytics. The Director will partner closely with senior leadership, brokers, and cross-functional teams to drive scalability, profitability, and innovation within the multifamily investment sales platform. This position requires a strategic, detail-oriented leader with a strong understanding of commercial real estate transactions, brokerage operations, and performance management in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement operational strategies to support business objectives and growth targets.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure consistent execution across markets and teams.
  • Oversee transaction workflow, compliance, and quality control for all multifamily investment sales activities.
  • Liaison with finance and leadership to effectuate budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking for the business line. Standardize best practices, document procedures, and implement scalable systems that support increased transaction volume without sacrificing quality.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and client experience.
  • Collaborate with marketing, research, and technology teams to optimize tools and resources for brokers.
  • Manage broker recruitment and onboarding process. Individual will not be responsible for procuring recruits, rather the process after a recruiting prospect has been identified.  This involves significant coordination with corporate development, technology, HR, legal, compliance, facilities and finance teams.
  • Establish clear roles, performance expectations, and career development paths to build a high-performing operations team.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Serve as a key liaison between brokers, leadership, and corporate functions to ensure alignment and execution. Facilitate communication, resolve operational challenges, and proactively address gaps between strategy and execution.

  • Education, Skills & Experience

    Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field.

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate operations, preferably in investment sales.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Expertise in process optimization, financial analysis, and compliance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems, financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

     

    Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) or relevant certifications (CCIM, CPM).

  • Experience with multifamily asset class and brokerage operations.

Annual base salary gross: $180,000 - $200,000 (NY and IL only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of ORIX’s salary for this position based on geography. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX’s total compensation package for employees.
