SWIVEL is seeking a talented individual to serve as Director of Product Management. This person is responsible for defining and executing product strategy, driving product performance, and leading a team of Product Managers and a Product Designer. This role owns the success of one or more product portfolios, balancing long-term strategic direction with hands-on product leadership and execution.


The Director is accountable for delivering customer value, revenue growth, market competitiveness, adoption, pricing and monetization strategies, and go-to-market readiness. The role leads a team of four to five individuals and may oversee supporting functions including Competitive Intelligence, Market Research, and Product Commercialization.


Working closely with Executive Leadership, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Legal, and Compliance, the Director ensures that product investments align with company objectives and market opportunities while driving measurable business outcomes.

Essential duties include the following:


  • Defines and owns the strategic direction, vision, and multi-year roadmap for assigned product portfolios.
  • Identifies market opportunities, competitive threats, customer needs, and emerging industry trends to inform investment decisions.
  • Partners with Director of Technical Product Management and Executive Leadership to align product strategy with company objectives, financial targets, and growth initiatives.
  • Establishes portfolio priorities and makes investment tradeoff decisions across competing opportunities.
  • Ensures product roadmaps are aligned with customer value, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and strategic objectives. 
  • Owns product business outcomes, including revenue growth, adoption, retention, customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share.
  • Develops and refines pricing, packaging, monetization, and commercialization strategies.
  • Partners with Finance and Executive Leadership on business cases, product investments, and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Defines success metrics and regularly reviews portfolio performance to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Drives product lifecycle decisions, including product launches, modernization efforts, expansion opportunities, and retirement strategies.
  • Oversees go-to-market strategy and launch readiness for major product initiatives.
  • Partners closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to ensure successful product adoption and commercialization.
  • Ensures value propositions, positioning, messaging, and product enablement materials effectively communicate product differentiation.
  • Supports strategic customer engagements, executive briefings, and key client discussions.
  • Leads market research, competitive intelligence, and customer discovery efforts through direct and indirect resources.
  • Establishes processes to continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, regulatory changes, and customer needs.
  • Incorporates customer feedback, industry insights, and market data into product planning and prioritization.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Credit Union and Financial Institution market dynamics, customer needs, buying motions, competitive offerings, regulatory considerations, emerging technologies, and industry trends to guide portfolio investment decisions and commercial strategy.
  • Leads, coaches, develops, and evaluates a team of Product Managers and a Product Designer.
  • Creates a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer outcomes, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Establishes clear expectations, operating rhythms, and quality standards for the Product organization.
  • Identifies organizational capability gaps and develops succession and talent growth plans.
  • Serves as a mentor and coach to Product Managers, helping elevate product thinking, execution quality, and business acumen.
  • Remains actively involved in product discovery, prioritization, roadmap decisions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Reviews and challenges assumptions, business requirements, customer problems, and proposed solutions.
  • Guides teams in developing features, epics, business cases, and requirements that are aligned with business and customer objectives.
  • Supports complex initiatives requiring executive alignment, cross-functional coordination, or significant organizational change.
  • Removes organizational barriers and escalates issues that may impact execution or business outcomes.
  • Ensures product teams maintain strong backlog discipline, strategic alignment, and execution excellence.
  • Influences and aligns stakeholders across Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Sales, and Customer Success.
  • Communicates strategy, priorities, tradeoffs, risks, and performance updates to executive and cross-functional audiences.
  • Builds trusted partnerships across the organization to drive successful delivery and adoption of product initiatives.
  • Represents Product Management in executive planning, strategic reviews, and company-wide initiatives.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of Product Management experience, including ownership of product strategy, roadmaps, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Minimum five (5) years of people leadership experience managing Product Managers or equivalent product organizations.
  • Demonstrated success leading product portfolios with measurable revenue, adoption, customer satisfaction, and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience developing product strategies, pricing models, monetization approaches, commercialization plans, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Experience conducting market analysis, competitive intelligence, customer research, and market validation activities.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple business functions.
  • Strong analytical, financial, strategic thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience serving Credit Unions, Financial Institutions, Banks, Fintechs, or related financial services organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Credit Union and Financial Institution landscape, including customer needs, buying motions, competitive pressures, and industry trends.
  • Experience working directly with Credit Union or Financial Institution customers, partners, or executive stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering or managing products in one or more of the following areas: digital banking, Core Banking, loan payments and debt repayment, ACH, card processing, money movement, banking APIs and SDKs, white-label user experiences, or financial services SaaS solutions.
  • Broad working knowledge of payment technologies, digital banking ecosystems, and financial services product offerings. Deep technical subject matter expertise is not required.
  • Ability to travel locally and/or nationally.

Compensation:

At SWBC, our pay structure is based upon the market data for each role and we have established compensation ranges to ensure that we remain competitive.  Any offer of employment is based upon individual experience, market data, and geographic location for each role. This role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation in the form of either commission or performance bonus.

The base salary range for this position is:

$154,492.00 - $247,187.20
