Summary:


Anaconda is seeking a talented Director of Product, Core Distribution to join our rapidly-growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.


What You'll Do:
  • Lead product strategy and roadmap for Anaconda's core distribution products including Desktop, Notebooks, Conda packages, and Installers that serve millions of users globally
  • Manage and mentor a team of product managers supporting 5-10 scrum teams across the distribution product portfolio
  • Drive user engagement and retention through improved user experience, feature prioritization, and addressing critical user pain points to maintain competitive advantage against emerging tools
  • Establish unified product vision that creates seamless, world-class developer experiences while enabling natural pathways for enterprise adoption and integration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering leadership, developer relations, technical enablement, and partnerships teams to ensure effective cross-functional execution
  • Define and track product success metrics, establish reporting cadence, and use data-driven insights to optimize product-market fit
  • Champion user-centered design and development practices that strengthen Anaconda's position as the de facto standard for Python development
  • Collaborate with developer community teams to foster engagement and gather feedback that informs product development priorities


What You Need:

  • 7-10 years of experience building software or products in Python environments
  • Proven track record leading product management teams and working with multiple engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical background with ability to engage in detailed discussions with engineering teams about complex technical challenges
  • Experience developing developer tools, platforms, or infrastructure products with deep understanding of developer workflows and pain points
  • Demonstrated success building products that balance community/open-source needs with commercial business objectives

The base salary range for this role is $216,500 - $281,750 for candidates in New York City and San Francisco, and $162,500 - $239,500 for other US-based team members, along with annual bonus potential, equity participation, and benefits.


Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
