Kapitus is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the Decisioning & Closing Value Stream, including Intake, Underwriting, Decisioning, Closing, and Risk Enablement capabilities. This role includes direct leadership of a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts, with full accountability for product strategy, roadmap delivery, and measurable business performance across the domain. This role requires strong platform and systems thinking, the ability to understand technical constraints and trade-offs, and accountability for measurable economic outcomes. You will be responsible for evolving the platform, advancing automation, and driving measurable business performance at scale.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Value Stream Strategy - Define and evolve the product vision for the Decisioning & Closing domain. Translate company priorities into a focused roadmap that strengthens underwriting capabilities, supports platform scalability, and drives long-term competitive advantage.
  • Drive Impact and Performance - Own measurable outcomes across growth, approval-to-funding conversion, automation, risk performance, and customer experience. Make thoughtful trade-offs and ensure initiatives are tied to clear KPIs that strengthen portfolio health and long-term scalability.
  • Lead High-Quality, Cross-Functional Execution - Drive execution from discovery through delivery in close partnership with Engineering, Risk, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership. Ensure initiatives are clearly defined, thoughtfully sequenced, and delivered with strong documentation, scalable design, and measurable business impact.
  • Leverage Data as a Strategic Asset - Use analytics and performance insights to inform prioritization, validate outcomes, and continuously refine decisioning logic and automation capabilities.
  • Lead and Develop a High-Performing Product Team - Directly lead and develop Product Owners and Business Analysts within the value stream. Elevate standards around discovery, prioritization, documentation, and ownership. Build a culture of accountability, clarity, and strategic thinking.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience & Strategic Accountability
    • 8-12+ years in Product Management, with demonstrated portfolio or multi-product ownership and 3+ years leading product teams.
    • Experience owning end-to-end product strategy in fintech, lending, underwriting, credit, or other regulated environments.
    • Proven ability to translate product strategy into measurable financial outcomes.
    • Strong understanding of lending economics, risk-based pricing, and portfolio performance, with comfort owning metrics tied to conversion, automation, and margin impact.
  • Platform & Systems Thinking
    • Experience working within complex, integrated systems.
    • Ability to understand system constraints, technical dependencies, and architectural trade-offs.
    • Experience influencing platform evolution in partnership with Engineering.
  • Execution & Analytical Judgment
    • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
    • Strong prioritization and structured decision-making skills.
    • Comfort using KPIs and performance insights to guide product strategy.
    • Ability to bring clarity and structure to complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Leadership & Influence
    • Experience leading and developing high-performing product talent.
    • Skilled at balancing collaboration with decisiveness.
    • Ability to elevate standards and create clarity in ambiguous environments.
    • Demonstrated ownership mindset and strong accountability.

Kapitus Total Rewards Package Includes: 

  • Competitive Base Salary Range of $157,100-$252,000 Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s geographic location, skills, and experience.
