We're seeking a Director, Public Sector Business Development to lead growth across Federal, State, and Local Government (SLED), and support growth in nonprofit sectors. This role is responsible for driving new business, leading a high-performing sales team, and expanding Forum One's presence in mission-driven markets.
What You'll DoDrive Growth- Develop and execute Forum One's public sector growth strategy.
- Build and maintain a healthy, qualified, and forecastable pipeline.
- Lead business development efforts across Federal, SLED, and nonprofit markets.
- Achieve individual and team revenue targets.
- Refine sales processes, tools, and go-to-market strategies to improve performance and win rates.
- Coach, mentor, and develop business development professionals.
- Establish performance metrics, accountability, and pipeline discipline.
- Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture aligned with Forum One's values.
- Guide opportunities from discovery and capture through proposal and close.
- Develop capture strategies, account plans, win themes, and teaming approaches.
- Partner with delivery, design, engineering, and strategy teams to create compelling solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to government and nonprofit leaders.
- Develop relationships with agency leaders, nonprofit executives, and industry partners.
- Expand partner networks that strengthen Forum One's capabilities and market reach.
- Represent Forum One at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
- 10+ years of professional services business development experience.
- 5+ years selling to government agencies and/or mission-driven nonprofits.
- Proven success achieving revenue targets and leading complex sales pursuits.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong understanding of federal procurement, capture strategy, and proposal development.
- Experience selling digital, technology, data, design, or consulting services.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
- Passion for mission-driven work and creating meaningful impact.
- Generate $6M+ in annual new business revenue.
- Build and lead a high-performing business development team.
- Maintain a healthy, forecastable pipeline that supports sustainable growth.
- Increase win rates through strong capture planning and pursuit leadership.
- Expand Forum One's presence and reputation across government and nonprofit markets.
- Develop lasting client relationships that drive repeat and long-term business.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Base Salary: $111,000 – $167,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $181,000 – $257,000
Commission: $70,000–$90,000 annually at 100% quota attainment, with uncapped earning potential
