About Us:

Grow was born to tackle a critical challenge: making mental health care more effective and accessible for everyone. Since launching in 2020, 15 million sessions have started on Grow, and we've barely scratched the surface. We do it through a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Every solution we build reveals ten more waiting to be delivered, and that's just what gets us going. We've backed that ambition with more than $328M in funding, including our Series D at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others.

At Grow, the work you do can literally change someone's life. Your work here doesn't stay on a screen; it impacts whether someone can find, afford, and access quality care. That ambition sets us apart, and offers you an endless runway to impact one of the world's most urgent issues. We don’t have passenger seats here. Everyone is driving something that matters.

This work deserves real commitment. So if you thrive on meeting problems head on, untangling serious complexity, and working at pace with the sharpest yet kindest people around, you've come to the right place.

We are looking for a Director of Search & Discoverability to own the strategy and operations for this critical and evolving point in the customer decision journey. In this role, you'll oversee search and discoverability end to end—accountable for both strategy and execution, across SEO & AEO, and every input that drives them, including broader search surfaces like YouTube, Reddit and other forums, and emerging discovery channels. You will develop learning agendas, partner on advanced measurement approaches, and ensure that every initiative delivers clear, measurable impact and business growth through durable, compounding visibility - ultimately building a world-class program.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Content, Data, and Growth to build strategies with alignment, accelerate performance outcomes, and make sure we show up when and where customers are searching for the category and brand. You will oversee agencies and lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen our approach to organic growth, content quality, and long-term discoverability.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned search leader who is both deeply strategic and an excellent operator, with strong analytical instincts and a bias for action, fluency across the technical and editorial inputs that drive ranking and share of voice across answer surfaces, and a track record of taking insights and getting the buy-in needed to turn these into scaled, measurable business growth. You are equally versed in how to build a durable SEO/AEO engine and in how to win on newer discovery surfaces like YouTube and community platforms and have a proven track-record of successful execution of the initiatives you lead. You bring structure and clarity to a highly complex space and know how to guide teams toward delivering meaningful performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy and roadmap for search and discoverability across all surfaces, spanning SEO, AEO, YouTube, forums like Reddit, and emerging discovery channels

  • Own the full set of inputs that drive organic performance—technical, content, architecture, structured data, brand, and more

  • Create and manage learning agendas and experiment frameworks that validate performance and inform prioritization

  • Build and own search measurement and data in partnership with Data and Finance, including rankings, share of voice, traffic quality, conversion, and attribution mapping

  • Oversee agency partners and build the Search & Discoverability org

  • Collaborate deeply with product and engineering teams to inform the roadmap, improve site and signal quality, and build the tracking and infrastructure that search programs depend on

  • Partner with cross-functionally to set shared objectives, align on learning agendas, and drive accountability against measurable business growth

  • Evaluate query-level, surface-level, and content-level insights to guide optimization, product decisions, and resource investment—and ultimately drive improved customer outcomes

  • Lead cross-functional reviews, planning cycles, and post-mortems to ensure the organization has clear visibility into results and is operating strategically

  • Develop scalable systems, documentation, and workflows that support transparency, efficiency, and improved results

  • Stay current with search trends, algorithm and answer-engine shifts, and platform capabilities to regularly innovate and identify new opportunities for reach and efficiency

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in search, SEO/AEO and organic growth, ideally within a consumer marketplace

  • A proven track record of building and scaling search programs across multiple surfaces that drive measurable business outcomes

  • Are highly innovative and have experience pushing boundaries and finding unique and custom ways to solve problems

  • A relentless focus on measurable impact and driving real, rapid and sustainable business growth

  • Demonstrated expertise across the inputs that drive search and discoverability outcomes —technical SEO, content strategy, structured data, authority building, and answer-engine optimization—plus fluency with newer discovery surfaces like YouTube and community platforms

  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and clear recommendations

  • Experience informing product decisions and partnering closely with product and engineering teams to ship against a shared roadmap with measurable results

  • A genuine obsession with the customer and a habit of grounding every decision in how and where people find answers and information

  • A strategic and operational mindset, with the ability to set long-term direction while executing near-term objectives with excellence

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams

  • A steady, proactive, solutions-oriented approach when navigating ambiguity or competing priorities
