What You’ll Do

Marquee Brands is looking for a proven and driven Business Development performer to fill a key leadership role on the team.  The position will be responsible for driving new business development. 

The Senior Director/Director will identify opportunities across brands, distribution, products, and geographies that are in line with each Brand’s DNA and strategic goals.  They will research the best prospective partners and opportunities to get internal alignment from VPs, Directors, and/or Brand Managers. Successful candidates will have an interest in both branding and marketing to develop their own sales assets to tailor pitches to high potential prospects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Grow existing brand businesses by identifying, vetting, and signing new product category and territory licensees.
  • Learn and understand Marquee’s business model and individual brand strategies.
  • Identify key contacts and potential partners through all means including business networking, e-mail & cold calling, tradeshows, and existing network.
  • Travel to prospective partner meetings and industry conferences/shows.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and prospective licensees.
  • Demonstrate how Marquee Brands can help partners achieve their company and sales objectives. 
  • Partner with brand and marketing to develop pitch decks that align each brand’s value proposition with prospective licensee’s portfolio, capabilities, and overall business model.
  • Take full end-to-end ownership of the deal process from origination to contract negotiation and execution. 
  • Effectively lead and manage productive negotiations of deal terms.
  • Manage complex contractual negotiation and work with legal counsel as required.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be able to identify, aggressively pursue, and close new business in order to meet/exceed company sales targets. 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • 6+ years of successful sales experience in new business development in licensing.
  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Have extensive knowledge and understanding of licensees’ business models, product categories, and distribution.
  • Preferred experience within Home & Culinary categories (with exposure to Fashion, Luxury, and Sport & Outdoor). 
  • Excellent selling, verbal, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-starter with natural enthusiasm and confidence. 
  • High degree of ownership, personal accountability, and attention to detail. 
  • Have knowledge and understanding of product categories, distribution, and international territories. 
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to specific audience needs. 
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office software.

$120,000-$175,000 + Bonus
