About the role

As a Director on the Strategic Finance team, you will play a critical role in shaping Flex’s business and financial strategy. You will operate as a senior partner to leadership, owning high-impact, cross-functional initiatives and driving decision-making across the organization. You will lead efforts to improve predictability, maximize ROI, and translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that influence company direction. This role requires strong business judgment, deep financial expertise, a strong bias for action and the ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels.

This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What you’ll do
  • Own and drive key company-level financial and strategic initiatives, partnering with senior leadership to inform direction on growth, profitability, and capital allocation
  • Lead cross-functional strategic planning and forecasting, ensuring alignment between business strategy, financial targets, and execution
  • Act as a thought partner to executives, influencing decisions on pricing, partnerships, product strategy, and go-to-market investments
  • Build and evolve Flex’s financial and operating models, ensuring they reflect business complexity and support forward-looking decision-making
  • Identify and execute on high-impact opportunities by synthesizing data, market insights, and internal performance trends
  • Set the standard for analytical rigor and business insight across the Strategic Finance function
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for executive and board-level audiences
Key qualifications
  • Financial modeling wizardry and exceptional attention to detail are a must; deep understanding of fintech and/or financial services business models is a plus
  • 7+ years of strategic finance, FP&A, biz ops, consulting or investment banking experience required; preference for operating experience at high-growth, scaling companies
  • Ownership mentality with proven ability to own and drive complex, cross-functional initiatives with significant business impact
  • Bias for action and ability to bring the correct level of rigor while operating with a level ambiguity
  • Desire and mindset to leverage AI as the default way of work. Highly analytical and interested in complex data analysis
  • Superior communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required
  • Experience with databases, SQL and BI tools a plus
  • A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field
Compensation

Flex takes a market-based approach to pay, ensuring compensation is commensurate with a candidate's experience and our internal leveling guidelines. For candidates located in our Tier 1 (NYC/Bay Area) and Tier 3 (Salt Lake City) markets, the base salary pay range for this role is below. Flex utilizes a geographic pay differential based on a cost of labor index. If you are located outside of the cities listed below, your starting pay will be adjusted to align with the market conditions of your specific geographic zone. Please speak with your recruiter for additional information regarding the specific range for your location.
