What is Bilt?
Bilt is the membership for where you live.

What started as a way to reward people on their largest expense has turned into an ecosystem connecting our members, property managers and local merchants.
Travel, dining, fitness, everyday spend. We are building systems across payments, credit, loyalty, and commerce all at once.

We run lean and move quickly. Every person here has a real impact on what gets built and how fast it happens.

This role comes with real ownership and high expectations. If you prefer clearly defined lanes and structure, this will feel uncomfortable. If you want to build quickly, have a real say in what gets built, and work on products used by millions, you will likely do your best work here.
What’s your role?
As a Director of Technical Integrations on the Rentals team, you'll own the connection between Bilt's platform and the day-to-day operations of property partners across the country. You'll configure and troubleshoot integrations, explain how partner systems exchange data with Bilt, and work directly with engineering to untangle complex, multi-step processes that span both sides.

The role sits deliberately between two worlds. You'll understand the client experience well enough to know why something matters, and the backend architecture well enough to know what it will take to fix. That combination is what makes the job valuable: you'll diagnose the real problem behind a partner's request, then translate it into clear, well-scoped requirements that engineering can build against and that actually solve what the partner needed. If you like operating in ambiguity, moving between technical detail and business context, and seeing your work land quickly across partners, internal teams, and millions of residents, this is the role.

In this role, you will...
  • Act as the technical knowledge bridge across external property partners and internal member services, banking, product, engineering, and design teams.
  • Translate client-specific operational needs into documented requirements, platform configurations, and test plans, prioritized against business initiatives.
  • Serve as a frontline escalation contact during peak rent-cycle periods, triaging and resolving production issues in real time.
  • Identify root causes by sorting through data patterns and volume, coordinating across engineering, support, and property management stakeholders.
  • Partner with product managers to prioritize fixes against features on the roadmap and drive accountability on aging items through consistent follow-up.
  • Leverage AI tools (Claude, Devin) to build playbooks, automate recurring workflows, and create frameworks for prioritizing and mitigating production issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical setup guides, operational documentation, and feature release materials with the marketing team, making complex processes easy to understand and replicate.
  • Monitor automated ticket and integration failure volume, separating recurring noise from genuine defects and documenting tickets with the detail needed to act on them.
  • Test and validate platform fixes and enhancements across client-facing and backend environments, confirming each change achieves its intended outcome before it is announced, trained on, and released to partners.
  • Monitor post-deployment performance of partner-specific screens, reports, and dashboards.

In terms of qualifications, we’re seeking:
  • Experience supporting or managing complex system integrations in a fast-paced environment, ideally in real estate, proptech, or SaaS
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL and API testing tools (e.g., Postman), with the ability to independently validate data and diagnose integration issues
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts — APIs, backend configurations, multi-system workflows — to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and confidence
  • Proven track record of driving issues from identification to full resolution, not just escalation
  • A clear preference for automation and scalable process improvement over manual workarounds, with hands-on experience building or improving validations and operational workflows
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, including standing up new procedures and playbooks where none exist
  • Experience collaborating across support, product, and engineering in a cross-functional capacity
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude, Devin) for workflow optimization and documentation
  • A can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit — no task is too small or large, and you seek out opportunities to make things better than they are today
Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with property management systems or real estate partner operations
  • Background in system implementations, QA, UAT, or end-to-end validation processes
  • Experience working across bespoke platforms with heavy customization of screens, reports, and dashboards
  • SQL or light scripting ability beyond basic queries for data monitoring and troubleshooting

Benefits:
  • Compensation - We offer a competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity and our performance bonus program
  • Health insurance for you (& your loved ones) from day one - Enjoy a One Medical Membership, wellness stipends, family programs and more, on us. We’ve got you and your family covered from day one.
  • 401k plan with a match - Retirement may feel more like a pipe dream than a reality but we’re here to help you get there.
  • Commuter FSAs - We believe the best ideas come from being together in one place. We just don’t think getting there should be so expensive.
  • UNLIMITED PTO - Because we believe that working hard shouldn’t mean always working. Take time for you as often as you need it.
  • Exclusive Employee only Bilt Points - We give our employees unique opportunities to earn points throughout their time at Bilt.
  • Team Events - We believe in human connection so we hold events to help our employees break from the monotony of the typical work week.

At Bilt Rewards, we believe in transparency and we do our best to make sure the company and our candidates are on the same page as it relates to compensation. In addition to posting salary ranges for our open roles, candidates should expect to be asked about compensation expectations and requirements early on in their interview process. Our goal is to highlight when expectations and Bilt’s salary range may be out of sync, and work with the candidate to determine whether it makes sense to continue conversations.

We are considering candidates with differing levels of expertise for this position. Leveling will be based upon your experience and performance in the interview process.

Where a new hire falls within a range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Bilt's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range. Bilt rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you can grow your salary over time.

The salary range for a Director, Technical Integrations is $150,000 - 165,000 and will be eligible for equity and an annual performance-based bonus.
