Director – Managed Services Transitions

CFGI’s Managed Services practice delivers transformative finance and accounting solutions by fully managing operations below the CFO level. We partner with clients to optimize their finance functions, streamline processes, enhance reporting, and enable faster, data-driven decision-making across core finance areas including accounting operations, financial close, and reporting.
We are seeking an experienced Director to support the execution and scaling of CFGI’s Managed Services Transitions function. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple onboarding engagements, ensuring consistent execution of transition frameworks, and maintaining and communicating visibility across transition activity to support effective planning and delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of client onboarding engagements, ensuring successful execution from planning through go-live
- Manage multiple concurrent transition engagements, providing oversight on timelines, risks, and issue resolution
- Ensure consistent application of standardized transition methodologies, playbooks, and tools across engagements
- Maintain and communicate visibility into transition status, risks, and capacity, supporting centralized reporting and planning efforts
- Lead transition governance processes, including status reporting, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication
- Partner with Managing Directors to align transition execution with pipeline demand and resource planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless handoff from transition to steady-state delivery
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation within the transition lifecycle
- Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Managers, Managers, and Consultants
- Support business development efforts by contributing to transition planning, timelines, and solutioning during the sales process
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- 10–12+ years of experience in finance transformation (required), with additional experience in managed services and/or program delivery preferred, ideally within a consulting environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously
- Deep understanding of finance operations and process improvement across core finance cycles
- Experience leveraging project tracking tools, dashboards, and status reporting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive accountability across engagements
