Position Overview

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Workflows team and build the tools that Customer Success Managers need to streamline their work and collaborate more effectively. From automating their customer lifecycles, to tracking their large team initiatives and controlling how information is shared between users, you’ll focus on the features that supercharge our users’ process from end to end. Catalyst Engineering is a fast growing team and you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of features from inception through future enhancements as we iterate based on feedback. What You’ll Do 

• Work closely with developers, design and product to build the features that our users use everyday. Partner with Engineering Manager and Product Manager to finalize requirements and project scope
• Pair program with teammates and contribute to code reviews
• Help improve observability of the system 
• Participate in technical discussions around design decisions for new features and long term scalability
• Advocate for improvements to our evolving backend and frontend infrastructure

What You’ll Need

• 3+ years of experience working across the full stack of modern web applications and with legacy codebases
• Deep empathy for the customer experience and pain points, and an insatiable curiosity about product decisions
• Firsthand knowledge of Vue.js/React, experience with Ruby on Rails (or other comparable languages and frameworks) preferred
• Familiarity with common API and services design best practices
• Disciplined approach to quality and experience successfully debugging issues when they do come up
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Understanding of how to move quickly while managing long-term code maintainability and what parts of the codebase could use some TLC to ensure reliability & performance
• A love for shipping features that delight customers and enable them to be more effective at their jobs
