Lead and mentor a team of engineers while guiding technical architecture and executing the product roadmap in a hybrid work environment.
Who we are
Findigs is on a mission to make renting work for all of us: to support every path, and simplify the way forward. We’re making every aspect of renting fairer, stress-free, and more convenient by changing the fundamentals of renting.
Our digital rental application offers a safe and seamless way to apply and get approved for your next home. We specialize in developing software and services for property managers nationwide, empowering them to deliver exceptional service to renters, while evaluating applications with unmatched speed and precision.
The Team
We’ve started by rethinking the rental application and screening processes from the ground up. Since launching our product, we've seen explosive demand from building operators looking to use tech to make their leasing better. Every day, our technology plays a role in deciding where people live. Housing (shelter) is essential, so we have a responsibility and mandate to get it right. Findigs does not just make it easier to apply or be evaluated for a new place — our team is committed to making the process more transparent, inclusive, and awesome.
The Role
As an Engineering Manager at Findigs, you will play a visible and pivotal role in scaling our platform. You will lead and support a high-performing team of engineers, serving as both a technical mentor and a strategic partner to the Head of Engineering.
You will own durable systems and drive the execution of our product roadmap. This is a "player-coach" position: you are responsible for the growth and performance of your engineers, but you are also expected to guide technical architecture, conduct code reviews, and ensure our systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Our Tech Stack: Python, Django, TypeScript, React, Temporal.io, Postgres.
Note on Sponsorship: Please note, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Where you will make an impact:
- Engineering & Execution
- Drive Roadmap Execution: Partner with Product on roadmap execution. Make explicit calls on scope, technical debt, and quality bars. Communicate technical constraints to stakeholders.
- Architect for Scale: Guide architectural decisions for scalable, available web applications. Ensure designs support business growth and data accuracy while maintaining system performance and reliability.
- Manage Technical Debt: Identify and prioritize technical debt across the codebase. Drive systematic remediation and communicate impact to Product and leadership.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Monitor system performance, lead incident response, and act as escalation point for production issues. Drive post-mortems and improvements that prevent recurring problems..
- Raise Engineering Standards: Establish team practices in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation. Mentor engineers and raise the quality bar over time.
- Leadership & People
- Mentorship & Growth: Drive team growth through regular 1:1s, career development plans, and technical up-skilling.
- Servant Leadership: Act as a multiplier for your team by eliminating roadblocks and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
- Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with Product, Data, and Compliance to define and scope projects that align with long-term business goals.
- Talent Acquisition: Lead the hiring and onboarding of new engineering talent, ensuring alignment with Findigs’ values and technical standards.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years in a formal management or technical leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of technical architecture and system design, with hands-on experience in modern web applications
- A proven track record of managing product roadmaps and delivering reliable, customer-facing solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and lead with empathy.
- The ability to lead independently while staying aligned with company objectives and the vision of the Head of Engineering.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in PropTech, FinTech, or high-growth startups.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and modern DevOps practices.
What we offer:
- Location: We operate on a hybrid schedule (3-4x times in-office per week), with in-office days at our newly renovated NoHo office.
- Mission-Driven Culture: A collaborative, high-impact workplace where we challenge each other to grow, innovate, and drive meaningful change.
- Competitive Compensation: Competitive base salary + bonus + Pre-IPO equity.
- Generous Time Off: We trust our team to manage their own time and workload. That's why we offer a Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, allowing you to take the time you need to rest and recharge. We also observe all-company holidays.
- Wellness Perks: Health benefits, 401(k) matching up to 4%, monthly gym stipend, and lunch provided every day.
Interviewing with Us
We're committed to making our interview process as effective and candidate-friendly as possible. We use a tool called Brighthire.ai to record our interviews so that our interviewers can focus entirely on the conversation and not get distracted by taking notes. Please note, if you move forward with the interview process, you'll always have the option to opt out of the recording.
We are an equal opportunity employer and, as such, all applicants will be considered based solely upon merit and directly relevant professional competencies.
