Enterprise Architect, Americas Markets & Industries Office of the CTO
The Enterprise Architect joins the Americas Markets and Industries Office of the CTO to work directly with Microsoft's most strategic customers. You will partner with senior technology leaders to shape the technical strategy behind their most ambitious cloud and AI initiatives, translating business objectives into strategies and patterns that deliver measurable outcomes at enterprise scale. You will engage across a broad range of technologies, solve complex business and technical challenges, and help customers accelerate innovation while building secure, resilient, and scalable platforms.
As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with customer executives, architects, engineers, and Microsoft account teams to guide technology decisions, remove obstacles, and drive successful adoption of Microsoft's platform capabilities. You will provide technical leadership throughout the customer journey, share best practices across the field, mentor technical communities, and help raise the quality and consistency of Microsoft's engagements across the division.
As part of the Office of the CTO, you will help connect customer needs, industry trends, and real-world implementation experience back into Microsoft. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and field teams to ensure customer feedback influences our products and strategy. Responsibilities
Understand Customer and Partner Technical Requirements
Leads discussions with stakeholders from one or many strategic customers to prioritize and shape the definition and execution of strategic projects that align business strategy with technical strategy and success measures.
Navigates political situations with high customer empathy to build stakeholder alignment across customer organizations and internal teams.
Design
Architects appropriate cloud-scale solutions, from network design fundamentals to security to proper use of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS products.
Accounts for data residency, sovereignty, and privacy requirements that shape architecture decisions for customers.
Develop and Implement
Shifts from business strategy to technical strategy to making it real for the customer.
Creates prototypes or pilots where needed to move a customer's understanding of the vision toward reality.
Trusted Advisor
Acts as the customer voice and partners with Product Engineering to coordinate improvements that eliminate prioritized gaps and improve the customer experience.
Develops trusted relationships with senior-level decision makers at high-impact customers and partners to build influence in addressing problems and blockers and facilitating additional perspectives on matters of strategic interest. Acts as an advisor to external stakeholders.
Differentiates Microsoft's solutions in complex or high-risk customer and partner conversations to influence the industry-wide direction for specific architectures.
Thought Leadership
Initiates and drives internal and external technical communities and community events across the broader Americas Markets & Industries division to strengthen understanding of key concepts and share best practices.
Serves as a market leader and drives recognition for Microsoft solutions through presentations, customer and industry engagements, and published white papers or architecture design templates on key technical topics.
Mentors other team members and shares knowledge across the Americas Market and Industries technical community.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years of experience in technical program or product management, coding, or software development and delivery work, OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of customer-facing experience.
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Hands-on experience with complex production applications that use Azure, AWS, GCP, and large-scale on-premises deployments, with a focus on one or more of the following: designing and implementing production cloud data estates; developing and implementing production AI applications from first hypothesis to production; or network and application security at cloud scale.
Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional programs spanning multiple business units or teams in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, bringing structure to undefined problems and driving results through influence rather than direct authority.
Experience supporting or presenting in executive briefings, such as Executive Briefing Center sessions, with a proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive audiences.
Strong public speaking skills, with comfort presenting to senior executives, large audiences, and diverse technical and business stakeholders.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
