Relevant experience may include:

  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical equity research
  • Buyside roles primarily focused on investing in biotechnology or pharmaceutical stocks at recognized institutions, hedge funds or VCs
  • Healthcare/life sciences consulting
  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry roles, including business development, corporate strategy, or experience contributing to commercial corporate initiatives
  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical investment banking

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong understanding of oncology, drug development, and clinical trial design, with the ability to evaluate scientific and medical literature
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills, including experience working with complex datasets
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with statistics, Python, or other analytical tools is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The strongest candidates:

  • Are intellectually curious and seek to understand how things work
  • Have a strong work ethic and drive to succeed
  • Take ownership and solve problems independently
  • Move quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Communicate proactively and respond promptly
  • Reduce others’ workload rather than add to it
  • Seek feedback and stay aligned on priorities
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Approach all tasks with a team-first mindset
  • Generate well-supported conclusions from complex information
  • Consistently improve team effectiveness
