Contract type: Full time (42.5 hours per week), Temporary 1099 contract (Maternity Cover)

What we’re looking for: 

Brooklyn Storehouse is seeking an experienced Events Manager (Maternity Cover) to oversee the planning and delivery of third-party events at the venue which are already secured and booked.

This role will also act as the main support to the General Manager and the Head of Operations, assisting them to plan, staff and deliver the venue’s busy upcoming spring/summer calendar. Please note: whilst this role does not manage music shows or concerts at the venue, there may also be the need to provide operational support on some music shows and occasional late night weekend hours should be expected for this role.

This role will mainly focus on corporate, cultural, brand, and private events already contracted at Brooklyn Storehouse, managing them from post-contract planning through to live event delivery and follow up, whilst also managing the new inbound inquiries.  

The Events Manager will act as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors, coordinating all operational details including logistics, vendor management, staffing coordination, compliance requirements, contracting and invoicing.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is highly organized, with excellent hands on venue and large scale venue operations experience, who is calm under pressure, and experienced managing complex events within a fast-paced venue environment.

The role also includes an administrative component, assisting with management of the venue diary, responding to sales enquiries, and supporting the General Manager and Head of Operations with operational coordination.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Operations & Planning

  • Continue the planning stages of the events already contracted in the diary and see those through to completion, following the frame work set out in Monday.com.
  • Coordinate third-party vendors including catering, production, rentals and technical suppliers.
  • Ensure vendors meet venue operational requirements.
  • Liaise with security, cleaning, traffic management and other venue partners as required.
  • Coordinate event logistics including layouts, timelines, infrastructure and operational requirements.
  • Ensure clients receive clear guidance on venue capabilities, operational requirements and event timelines.
  • Ensure all required event permits, insurance documentation and compliance materials are secured prior to event delivery.
  • Coordinate with venue leadership to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Coordinate event staffing requirements including venue crew, security, cleaning and operational support.
  • Work with the venue operations team to ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth event delivery.
  • Ensure all operational requirements and venue procedures are followed.
  • Be the onsite lead for the duration of the build, live & de-rig phase of the event, acting as the most responsible person on site and as venue guardian.
  • Ensure that all work/activity that the client carries out onsite is in compliance with Broadwick group policies, procedures and metrics across the spaces.

Sales

  • Continue the successful sales pipeline already in place at Brooklyn Storehouse via -
  • diary management
  • identifying new events, opportunities, and markets
  • data recording via CRM software
  • business development and proactive sales
  • relationship management
  • marketing initiatives
  • Ensuring the highest standards of sales operations for the venue is met.
  • Leading on the conversion and negotiation of new contracts and the management of key high value clients as and when required.
  • Carrying out site visits with clients at every opportunity, accurately explaining the spaces and options for various events, including our suppliers, as well as logistics relating to install and derig.

Marketing

  • Contributing to the marketing plan for corporate and third party hire for the venue set by the General Manager and Marketing team.
  • Ensuring you act as brand guardian and represent the brand across your work.
  • Attending networking events, exhibitions and other promotional activities as and when required to actively promote the venue.

Finance

  • Ensuring compliance with business policies and procedures.
  • Raising event invoices when required, pre and post event, including chasing late invoices/debt management. Working alongside the finance team to ensure all events are fully reconciled within 2 weeks post event.
  • Reporting the relevant figures to the space P&L in terms of forecasting and reconciliation to the senior management team.
  • Providing reports to the line manager when required.

Operations

  • Working with the operations team to ensure compliance with Broadwick group policies, procedures and metrics across the spaces.

Team

  • Supporting the General Manager and Head of Operations, acting as their key support in delivering the venues busy calendar.
  • Creating a work environment that aligns with Brooklyn Storehouse’s  values and principles.

Other

  • Carrying out ad hoc duties when required to.
You’ll need to have:
  • 3+ years experience in event management, venue operations management, or production coordination – on the ground experience of operationally delivering large (1000 capacity and over) events is vital.
  • Experience managing large-scale events or venue operations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple vendors and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume events environment.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve quickly and manage competing priorities.
