About Cogent

Cogent is an Applied AI Lab building the next generation of AI agents for cybersecurity. AI has fundamentally changed how attacks happen, allowing malicious actors to operate at unprecedented speed and scale. Cogent's "AI Taskforce" assesses petabytes of enterprise data to remediate these issues before critical breaches occur.

To stay at the cutting edge, we blend frontier research with real-world execution. Alongside our core product work, Cogent Research serves as our applied AI lab, providing the research horsepower needed to make truly agentic security workflows a reality. We partner with Fortune 500 companies to secure some of the most complex production environments in the world.

We're backed by Greylock & Bain Capital Ventures, and we've built a team with the best minds in applied AI. Our team is comprised of people from:

  • Top universities like Stanford, Berkeley, Penn, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, Waterloo

  • Unicorn, high-growth companies like Scale AI, Databricks, Stripe, Tesla, Coinbase

  • World class cybersecurity experts from Wiz, Abnormal AI, Zscaler

  • Preeminent research labs like Deepmind and SAIL

About the Role

We're hiring an Executive Assistant to the CEO to own the operations behind our CEO and Field CISO so their time goes where it has the most impact: customers, candidates, and building the company. You'll be their partner in running the week, planning ahead and keeping every commitment on track, with the trust to make calls on your own.

What You'll Do
  • Own calendar and email management for both executives end to end, from triaging inbound requests to protecting focus time across time zones

  • Coordinate their weeks: prep for meetings and follow up on action items until they're done

  • Run logistics for critical meetings, including candidate conversations with our CEO

  • Host customers, investors, and candidates visiting our San Francisco office, and serve as the first point of contact for the CEO's office

  • Handle the day-to-day logistics for leadership, including travel and team meals through Forkable

  • Take on special projects as they come up, and expand your support to our founders and critical function leaders as the team grows

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally supporting a CEO or founder

  • Background at a venture-backed startup or a venture capital firm

  • You've done this job before and can run on day one: you anticipate what the CEO needs and act on it before being asked

  • Advanced calendar and inbox management, with the judgment to decide what gets time and what gets declined

  • Strong project management skills - you keep several workstreams tracked and moving at once

  • Poise with customers and executives, and comfort being the first person a Fortune 500 security leader meets at Cogent

  • Discretion with confidential information

Bonus Points
  • Experience supporting more than one executive at a time

  • Experience coordinating recruiting logistics or candidate interviews

  • Experience at a Series A-C company during a period of fast headcount growth

We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse company. We do not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, disability, or race.
