Based in Toronto, you will support executive and employee communications for Canada and provide broader internal communications support for Latin America. You will report to the Head of Corporate Communications for Latin America and Canada and collaborate across Communications, Marketing, and business stakeholders, with a focus on executive positioning and issues/reputation management.
Job Responsibilities
Strategy & leadership counsel
- You will support the development and execution of Canada’s external and internal communications strategy aligned to business objectives, firm priorities, and regional narrative consistency.
- You will help counsel senior leaders in Canada on messaging, executive positioning, thought leadership, and issues/reputation management.
External communications & media relations (Canada)
- You will drive Canada external communications, including pitching and story development, media strategy, briefing materials, and escalation support.
- You will maintain fluency in Canada’s business and financial media landscape, including key outlets/journalists and emerging issues relevant to the firm.
Executive engagement & content
- You will plan and execute executive engagement moments (e.g., town halls, all-hands, roundtables, site visits, offsites) in Canada and, as needed, for LatAm internal moments.
- You will create executive communications materials (talking points, briefs, announcements, change communications, business updates) for Canada leaders and priority LatAm internal needs.
Multi-channel internal communications & regional support
- You will develop and deliver multi-channel narratives and campaigns (newsletters, stories/articles, video, digital signage) tailored by audience and channel.
- You will provide internal communications support for LatAm, coordinating with regional stakeholders as needed.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills.
- 3–4 years of experience in corporate communications with demonstrated strength across executive communications and internal communications.
- Bachelor’s degree required (communications, journalism, business, or related).
- Hands-on media relations and pitching experience in Canada, including developing pitches, media materials, and driving reporter engagement.
- Demonstrated, current knowledge of the Canadian media ecosystem (business/financial, policy, and regional outlets).
- Experience supporting senior executives, including coaching and preparation for high-visibility moments (including media-facing engagements in Canada).
- Experience supporting executive positioning (narrative, messaging, Q&A, briefing books) and partnering on media engagement.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills; ability to translate complex topics into clear narratives for senior leaders and employees.
- Strong strategic and project management capability; sound judgment, attention to detail, and strong risk awareness; comfortable operating in a matrixed organization and across time zones/stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills.
- Financial services experience.
- French and experience with Quebec media.
- Agency (PR/communications) experience.
